Don’t Drop Investigation Into Exorcist Actress’ Dog Kennel

Target: Marcia Mayeda, Director of Los Angeles Animal Care and Control

Goal: Do not end or shorten investigation into Linda Blair’s kennel.

An actress who gained fame for an iconic movie role in the 1970s is in the spotlight again – this time as the subject of an animal welfare investigation. Linda Blair, who played possessed child Regan in The Exorcist, recently had her property investigated by Los Angeles officials. The investigation reportedly involved a suspected kennel operation housing more than 100 dogs.

Blair has promoted herself as a long-time advocate for animals and has been involved in several animal rescue efforts. The actress’ property apparently came to the notice of the Los Angeles Departments of Regional Planning and of Animal Care and Control following the 2023 expiration of the kennel’s permits. Repeated attempts to contact Blair had reportedly not been answered. While investigators eventually left the premises without removing any dogs, due diligence must be followed and the animals’ welfare fully verified.

Sign the petition below to urge all involved parties to remain vigilant and transparent in bringing this matter to a proper close.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Director Mayeda,

“Our priority is the safety and well-being of both the animals on the property and the people who may be working or residing here. This inspection will help us determine whether conditions meet required standards.” This statement was issued in response to reports that actress Linda Blair’s property had been searched in potential connection with an allegedly unlicensed kennel operation. Please honor these words by maintaining a close watch on the premises and ensuring all questions are satisfactorily answered regarding reported failures to stay in contact with inspectors.

Do everything in your power to ensure these animals are in a safe and caring environment.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
