A Tampa crime camera seemingly caught a horrendous act of animal abuse. The camera’s operator described a harrowing scene: a woman had reportedly dragged a young Maltese dog outside and hurled the animal to the ground. Once the dog crawled back to the woman, she then allegedly kicked the pup, picked the animal up, and threw him again, with more force.
When the puppy was rushed for veterinary care, he had reportedly suffered a broken leg and other injuries that necessitated amputation. Staff quickly fell in love with the pooch and showered him with affection. Tragically, he died during surgery, leaving the veterinary staff and the community devastated. The suspect in the case, Imania Davis, has a long reported criminal history and now faces multiple counts of aggravated animal cruelty.
The state’s attorney has committed to ensuring accountability in this disturbing case. Sign the petition below to hold her to her word.

Dear State’s Attorney Lopez,
When a stray puppy was allegedly assaulted by Imania Davis, presumed eyewitnesses did not come forward. If not for a crime camera that happened to be operational in the region, this reported act of cruelty may never have been discovered. This young animal ultimately lost his life from seemingly cold-blooded brutality. Hillsborough County’s sheriff said of the case: “It’s hard on me. It is hard on our investigators who investigated this case. It’s hard on our community to even watch the video.”
You have reportedly expressed interest in this case and in pursuing any additional charges that may be forthcoming, aside from the six already-pending animal cruelty charges. Please exercise due diligence and secure justice for this puppy and for any innocent being subjected to needless cruelty.
