Dogs Allegedly Maimed for Donation Videos: Demand Criminal Prosecution

Target: Richard Birivumbuka, Resident State Attorney, Mityana District, Uganda

Goal: Pursue criminal charges against individuals allegedly harming dogs and staging fake rescues to solicit international donations.

A disturbing investigation has uncovered allegations that dogs were deliberately harmed to generate emotional online fundraising campaigns. Undercover footage released by journalists reportedly showed sham rescue shelters functioning as “content hubs” where suffering animals were allegedly used to create viral videos intended to attract donations from supporters around the world.

The investigation centered on a dog known publicly as “Russet,” whose severe leg injuries were apparently featured in fundraising content. Investigators reportedly found evidence suggesting that treatments and rescue narratives may have been staged or manipulated to maximize financial contributions. The dog has since died, further intensifying public concern surrounding the alleged conduct and treatment of vulnerable animals used in online campaigns.

If proven, these allegations would represent both severe animal cruelty and calculated financial exploitation of public compassion. Strong legal action is necessary not only to ensure accountability for any confirmed abuse but also to deter similar alleged schemes involving animals and fraudulent fundraising practices in the future.Sign below to demand justice.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear State Attorney Birivumbuka,

Recent investigative reporting has documented allegations that dogs were intentionally harmed and used in staged rescue videos to solicit international donations. Undercover footage reportedly documented sham shelters operating as fundraising content centers rather than legitimate rescue facilities.

The reported treatment of animals, including a dog whose injuries became widely shared online before its death, raises serious concerns about deliberate cruelty allegedly carried out for financial gain. If substantiated, this conduct would represent an alarming abuse of both animals and donor trust.

We urge your office to pursue a full criminal investigation and prosecute any individuals found responsible under all applicable laws. If proven, these alleged actions warrant decisive prosecution and meaningful penalties to prevent recurrence.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
