Bulls were allegedly beaten to force them to pull a concrete pillar weighing around 16 tons. A complaint alleged that the animals were repeatedly struck during the event, and video showed some bulls collapsing.
The case was filed under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The complainant warned that such beating could cause fractures, injuries or permanent harm to the bulls, and could also endanger people if distressed animals ran uncontrolled.
Public entertainment cannot justify alleged cruelty. Prizes, crowds and annual tradition do not excuse forcing animals into painful, dangerous exertion. Sign below to demand those responsible are identified through the video and held accountable.

Reports indicate that bulls were beaten repeatedly during a race to force them to pull a concrete pillar weighing around 16 tons. Video apparently showed people striking the animals, with some bulls collapsing during the event.
