Moments later, the dogs approached and one apparently bit the individual. Afterward, investigators reportedly observed a pit bull with three fresh, deep cuts to the face that appeared consistent with knife slashes and recovered a folding knife with fresh blood nearby. Police say the person admitted to instigating the dogs immediately before being bitten.
According to officials, this confrontation began with deliberate provocation. The reported sequence includes taunting, brandishing a blade, and approaching confined animals which then reacted. The dog, described by police as having distinct facial lacerations, was secured and evaluated.
