Demand Lifetime Animal Ban for Offender Who Allegedly Slit, Skinned, then Bludgeoned Cat on Video

Target: TA. Shaji, Director General of Prosecution, Kerala, India

Goal: Impose the maximum custodial sentence, restitution, mandatory psychiatric evaluation, and a permanent prohibition on animal ownership or handling for the individual who reportedly filmed himself slitting a cat’s throat, skinning the animal, and beating it with an iron rod.

A viral recording purportedly shows a man methodically slitting a cat’s throat, removing the animal’s skin, then striking the motionless body with an iron rod. He apparently posted the footage publicly, prompting widespread outrage and a formal complaint. Investigators have charged him under cruelty statutes that cover mutilation and killing.

The accused is a lorry driver who allegedly boasted about the act on social media. Sharing such extreme violence online suggests a possible desire for attention and may signal deeper antisocial or sadistic tendencies. Mental-health professionals warn that this type of deliberate, pleasure-driven cruelty toward animals can precede or accompany violence against people.

Meaningful punishment is vital both to deter copycat offenses and to safeguard communities. Sign below to demand robust prosecution, psychological assessment, and a lifelong ban on owning or working with animals to reflect the severity of the suffering inflicted and help prevent future harm.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Director General Shaji,

We are appalled by reports of a video in which a man allegedly slits a cat’s throat, skins the animal, and repeatedly beats the body with an iron rod before uploading the footage for public consumption. This act, if proven, demonstrates calculated cruelty and apparent sadistic exhibitionism.

We respectfully urge your office to pursue every charge the evidence supports, seek the maximum sentence allowed, and request consecutive penalties where possible. A court-ordered psychiatric evaluation is essential to determine underlying risk factors, and any conviction should include a lifetime prohibition on owning, keeping, or working with animals, alongside substantial restitution for animal-welfare agencies.

Taking strong legal action will honor the suffering of this cat, deter future atrocities, and protect vulnerable animals and people across Kerala.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
