Target: Sam Bregman, District Attorney of Bernalillo County, New Mexico
Goal: Seek maximum criminal penalties and a lifelong animal-ownership ban for the suspect who allegedly threw a Yorkie at a police officer.
Body-camera footage reportedly shows a trespassing suspect clutching a small Yorkie before allegedly hurling the terrified dog directly at an approaching officer. The impact reputedly sliced the officer’s hand and sent the animal tumbling as the man fled the scene.
According to police, the 41-year-old suspect then allegedly forced his way into a woman’s apartment, held her against her will, and only surrendered after a K-9 unit intervened. The dog was later recovered and, as reported by authorities, is safe.
The accused now faces charges that include false imprisonment, battery, and resisting an officer, and investigators are coordinating with Animal Welfare to explore additional animal-cruelty counts. Using a living creature as a projectile reportedly inflicted both physical harm and severe psychological trauma. Allowing such cruelty to go lightly punished would endanger other animals and undermine community trust in the justice system. Sign below to demand a decisive legal response, substantial jail time, fines, restitution for veterinary care, and a permanent pet ban to deter similar acts and affirm that violence against animals will not be tolerated.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear District Attorney Bregman,
Body-camera video allegedly captures Bobby Chavez launching a defenseless Yorkie at a police officer, causing an injury to the officer and terrifying the dog. After this reported assault, the suspect purportedly barricaded himself in a woman’s apartment before surrendering.
Such conduct demonstrates a blatant disregard for life and safety—both human and animal. A sentient being was reputedly weaponized, reduced to a mere object to facilitate escape. The officer sustained a wound, and the dog endured needless fear and potential injury.
We respectfully urge your office to pursue the harshest penalties allowable under New Mexico law, to seek restitution for the Yorkie’s ongoing care, and to request a lifetime prohibition on animal ownership for the defendant. A strong prosecution will honor the victimized animal, reinforce statutory protections, and send an unambiguous message that cruelty of this magnitude will meet with uncompromising justice.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]

Report Bobby Chavez to ICE
it doesnt matter what u think of ice
This is an opportunity to use them for justice on these animal abusers and rapists on these petitions.
Everyone report all of them to ICE
The system sucks, but use it for GOOD.
These low life crapholes can take the place of gardeners and construction workers.
Its a win win. You get rid of filthy abusers, and they take up a spot in the ICE quota that would have just been some normal person who doesnt hurt anyone.
