Cat Allegedly Left Untreated After Severe Injuries Deserves Justice

Target: Andrea Joy Campbell, Attorney General of Massachusetts

Goal: Ensure that those allegedly responsible for denying treatment to an injured cat face appropriate legal consequences for reported animal cruelty.

Earlier this year, a 15-year-old cat named Mittens reportedly endured severe injuries after being hit by a car, leaving him with two broken front legs and a shattered jaw. Allegedly, instead of seeking immediate medical help, Mittens’ owners refused treatment, leaving him in immense pain and unable to eat. This distressing scenario continued until authorities intervened, apparently revealing a blatant disregard for the cat’s well-being.

Further details of this alleged incident paint a heartbreaking picture of neglect. MSPCA Law Enforcement reportedly had to secure a warrant to seize Mittens from his owners in order to provide him the necessary medical care. Mittens’ owners reportedly forfeited him to the MSPCA after failing to comply with a court-ordered bond. Such actions suggest a troubling lack of compassion and responsibility towards a defenseless animal in critical need.

This petition seeks legal accountability for those allegedly involved in this act of cruelty. Without strong legal repercussions, similar acts may go unpunished, potentially allowing other animals to suffer. Take action to prosecute those reportedly responsible for this neglect to set a precedent that animal cruelty will not be tolerated.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear AG Campbell,

I am writing to bring your attention to a deeply troubling case of alleged animal cruelty involving a 15-year-old cat named Mittens. Earlier this year, Mittens was reportedly hit by a car, which resulted in two broken front legs and a broken jaw. Despite his severe injuries, his owners allegedly refused to seek treatment, leaving him to suffer needlessly until authorities intervened.

The MSPCA Law Enforcement reportedly had to secure a warrant to seize Mittens, and only then could he receive the care he desperately needed. It has been reported that his owners eventually forfeited him to the MSPCA after failing to pay a court-ordered bond, further illustrating their apparent disregard for his well-being.

We urge you to take strong legal action against those allegedly responsible for this apparent act of cruelty. By prosecuting the parties involved, you will send a clear message that animal neglect and abuse are unacceptable and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. First, charge them with animal cruelty then actually prosecute them. Follow that up with a visit in jail and make them pay the vet bills. After that a lifetime ban on animal contact of any kind. What losers.

  2. I agree with Jo! To be owners of Mittens for 15 years and yet allow the cat to suffer as they did is deplorable. Wish we could do that to them! They deserve it! No mercy for them as they gave Mittens up only so they wouldn’t be charged for the extreme abuse and the cheap bastards wouldn’t have to pay for vet care. They are not excused. Force them to be responsible for this tragedy. Have them pay all vet bills, foster costs and rehoming costs. They should have both their legs broken and their jaws with no medical treatment. They would know the pain and suffering they caused Mittens. I also agree a ban must be placed against them for life so they can never own, work with or be around any animals for the rest of their lives. This may be the only justice Mittens will have against her tormentors.
