Dog Allegedly Hit With Glass Bottle Deserves Justice

Target: Mike Ramsey, District Attorney, Chico, California

Goal: Secure prosecution for the individual accused of abusing their dog with a glass bottle.

On a recent Thursday morning, authorities were alerted to a distressing scene on the 2000 block of Norte Dame Boulevard, where an individual, reportedly in a state of public intoxication, was allegedly seen mistreating their canine companion in an egregiously cruel manner. Witnesses and law enforcement described an appalling act of violence: the dog’s owner, identified by police as Fredrick Eder, was purportedly hitting the dog with a glass bottle. Such alleged actions not only signify a grave disrespect for animal welfare but also highlight a concerning lack of empathy and self-control on the part of the accused.

Following the incident, the canine victim was promptly examined by a veterinary professional to assess the extent of its injuries before being transferred to the care of the Chico Animal Shelter. This swift response underscores the immediate need for protection and rehabilitation for animals subjected to such alleged brutality. However, while the physical care of the dog is paramount, it is equally crucial to address the root cause of such incidents through legal channels, ensuring that justice is served and potential future harm is averted.

The necessity for legal action against individuals accused of animal abuse cannot be overstated. Alleged acts of violence against defenseless animals must be met with the rigorous investigation and appropriate legal consequences. Animal cruelty is a serious crime that will not be tolerated. Call upon the District Attorney to take decisive action, ensuring that the individual accused of this disturbing act is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, thereby upholding the principles of justice and animal welfare.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Mike Ramsey,

In the wake of an alarming incident reported on the 2000 block of Norte Dame Boulevard, our community finds itself at a crossroads, confronted with the harsh reality of alleged animal cruelty within our midst. According to police reports, an individual, later identified as Fredrick Eder, was apprehended after he was allegedly observed engaging in an act of violence against his dog, using a glass bottle as a weapon. Such reports of apparent cruelty not only shock and sadden us but also compel us to seek immediate and effective legal redress.

The alleged mistreatment of this animal, involving the use of a glass bottle, raises serious concerns about the safety and well-being of pets in our community. The swift intervention by law enforcement, leading to the dog’s examination by a veterinarian and subsequent care at the Chico Animal Shelter, is commendable. However, it addresses only the immediate needs of the victim. We believe that true justice requires holding those accused of such actions accountable under the law, ensuring that the alleged cruelty does not go unpunished.

Therefore, we urge you to take a stand against animal cruelty by prosecuting the individual implicated in this case to the fullest extent possible. By doing so, you will not only be advocating for the rights and welfare of animals but also reinforcing the moral and legal fabric of our society, which unequivocally condemns violence against the innocent. Let us collectively affirm our commitment to justice and compassion, making clear that such alleged acts of abuse will not be overlooked or forgotten.

Sincerely,

  1. Nothing will be done. Why? No money in Animal prosecution. A drunk man like this one who abuses his canine needs to not have any animals living with him or go near any animals. This jerk must pay for medical expenses, rehoming as the dog can not be given back to a monster.
Our legal system has failed us and animals are not a top priority. Yet companion animals suffer gravely. This fool deserve no mercy for he certainly didn’t show any mercy even for his best friend. Take the damn bottle and slap him right across the face with it. He may never be the same but he may learn to be civil.

  2. Justice must be served and this cruel sob must be severly punished! Hope this poor helpless baby gets a new loving home she so deserves, no more abuses and sufferings!
