Justice for Alleged Cruelty in Greyhound Racing

Target: Premier Peter Malinauskas, South Australia

Goal: Enforce stringent legal actions against alleged cruelty in greyhound racing for swift justice.

In South Australia, a ghastly revelation has surfaced from Murray Bridge, shaking the greyhound racing industry’s core. A video, disseminated by ABC Adelaide, allegedly displays harrowing acts of abuse by trainers. This has sparked an urgent inquiry and a stern warning from the government: reform within two years or face a ban. Such shocking revelations necessitate immediate and firm legal actions against those allegedly responsible for this cruelty.

Further scrutiny of the incident reveals a deeper, more systemic issue. The independent review, triggered by these alarming allegations, proposes 57 recommendations, highlighting the dire need for an overhaul. Notably, it suggests the establishment of an independent inspector to ensure the implementation of these reforms. These proposed changes underscore the gravity of the situation and the pressing need for accountability and reform within the industry.

Mere industry reform is not enough. Demand legal accountability for those allegedly involved in these heinous acts. This will not only serve as a deterrent for future misconduct but also as a step towards restoring the integrity of greyhound racing. These alleged acts of cruelty must be met with more than just administrative changes; they warrant legal repercussions to reflect the severity of the allegations.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Premier Peter Malinauskas,

The recent distressing revelations from Murray Bridge have laid bare the alleged cruelty within the greyhound racing industry in South Australia. The video, reportedly showing trainers in acts of abuse, has not only shocked the public but also challenged the moral compass of our society. This alarming situation demands more than just industry reform; it calls for strict legal action against those allegedly responsible.

The independent review’s 57 recommendations and the government’s request to the industry highlight the severity of the situation. Yet, these actions, while necessary, are not sufficient. The public outcry and the disturbing nature of the allegations call for a stronger response. Those allegedly involved in these acts must face legal consequences. This will not only bring justice to the affected but also act as a deterrent for future misconduct.

We urge you to take decisive action. Legal consequences for those allegedly involved are necessary to ensure that such acts of cruelty are never repeated. By holding individuals accountable, we can restore faith in the industry and ensure the welfare of these animals. We look to you to lead this charge for justice and change.

Sincerely,

  1. No society of human beings needs to have dog racing. It is beyond horrible, it is torture.

Stop this brutal money making game of death. Of course if it was your death it would stop immediately but if it is the loss of dogs … oh the hell with it.

Dogs deserve better whereas you deserve nothing

Dog racing needs to be banned and outlawed everywhere. Humans care nothing about the welfare of the animals. They only care about profit. These poor animals suffer at the hands of greedy monsters!!
