Target: William J. Ford, Executive Chairman of Ford Motor Company
Goal: Support impending resolution of auto workers’ strike.
Auto workers recently joined the growing ranks of employees fighting for fair, equitable treatment and wages. Signers of this ForceChange petition spoke out in support of striking workers and appealed to major auto manufacturers to reach a deal. Such efforts have helped secure another key win for workers’ rights.
The United Auto Workers (UAW) have now reached agreements with all three major American auto manufacturers. The deals include significant pay raises for workers and also enhanced retirement benefits for senior employees. Once ratified, these agreements will end a strike that has kept auto workers and manufacturers in limbo for several weeks.
The series of deals began with a manufacturer that has experienced an often tumultuous relationship with employees since its inception over a century ago. Sign the petition below to commend the Ford Motor Company for setting a better course forward.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear Mr. Ford,
The agreement Ford reached with the UAW helped lay a foundation for these hard workers that may soon end an industry-upending strike. Employees will now enjoy more security and feel more value for their contributions. And the auto industry as a whole can get back to the business of building the transportation of the future.
Thank you for avoiding past mistakes, for bargaining with workers in good faith, and for demonstrating why Ford is an industry leader.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]
