Stop Hunting Endangered Harpy Eagles for Their Feathers

Target: Mr. Rodrigo Chaves Robles, President of Costa Rica

Goal: Take immediate action to protect the Harpy Eagle, an endangered species threatened by habitat loss and hunting, in Costa Rica.

The Harpy Eagle is a majestic and iconic bird of prey that plays a vital role in the ecosystem of Costa Rica. However, due to habitat loss and hunting, the Harpy Eagle is now critically endangered, with only a few hundred individuals remaining in the wild.

Habitat loss caused by deforestation, agricultural expansion, and infrastructure development is the leading threat to the Harpy Eagle’s survival. Additionally, hunting and poaching for their feathers and body parts are putting immense pressure on this species.

It is imperative that immediate action be taken to protect the Harpy Eagle in Costa Rica. This requires the strengthening of law enforcement and governance, along with habitat conservation and restoration, and education and awareness-raising initiatives to promote sustainable wildlife use and alternative livelihoods.

Through effective law enforcement and governance, habitat conservation and restoration, education, and alternative livelihoods, we can protect the Harpy Eagle from habitat loss and hunting and preserve the biodiversity of Costa Rica.

Sign below and demand that Mr. Rodrigo Chaves Robles, President of Costa Rica, take action and support these efforts.

Women have to take back the world. All this habitat destruction and extinction wouldn’t happen on our watch. So there, Mr. Robles!
