Reunite Mother With Smuggled Children

Target: Suella Braverman, UK Home Secretary

Goal: Give aid to asylum seeker searching for children taken by human smugglers.

A mother, desperate for a better life for her family, puts her trust in unscrupulous criminals. A tragedy ensues. The narrative is all-too-familiar, and it sustains the dark world of human smuggling. Now a woman who fell victim to the trap is urgently pleading for help.

The woman in this case hails from the African country of Eritrea, which has one of the world’s worst records on human rights and freedoms. Hoping for a chance at asylum in the United Kingdom (UK), she trusted smugglers in northern France to get her three children and herself safely to the UK on a boat. When these smugglers got spooked, however, they reportedly took off prematurely before this mother could board the boat. Now she has spent agonizing days trying to find her children.

Sign the petition below to urge UK officials to do everything in their power to reunite this separated family.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Secretary Braverman,

The Eritrean woman who was allegedly separated from her young family by human smugglers is desperate for the Home Office’s help. She is stuck in France while her three children are very likely afraid and alone in the United Kingdom. Your office commented on the evils of human smuggling but did not directly address the plight of one woman. This urgent case goes beyond politics or red tape.

Please grant this mother entrance into the UK and do everything in your power to reunite a family and, unlike the smugglers you rightfully condemned, show your humanity.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
