Stop Workers From Reportedly Striking Cows With Paddles

Target: Thomas Vilsack, United States Secretary of Agriculture

Goal: Demand that routine investigations of JBS supply chains are performed to make sure animal welfare standards are being met.

Allegations of animal abuse at JBS, a leading global food processing company, have been in circulation for many years, with reports that JBS has one of the worst animal welfare records of all livestock slaughter plants. Most recently, a JBS worker was reportedly witnessed using a paddle to repeatedly strike two innocent cows. Prior to this incident, JBS had been accused of many other atrocities, including workers allegedly failing to properly stun animals before they were hung and dismembered, seemingly leaving hundreds of cows and pigs without access to water, and reportedly forcing cows to stand for over 10 hours on transport vehicles waiting to be slaughtered.

Animal rights groups, including PETA, have stepped forward to shed light on the cruelty that allegedly happens on JBS supply chain farms and slaughterhouses. They have demanded that JBS live stream its operations to show customers exactly what they are paying for, though JBS has failed to respond.

Sign this petition to demand further inspections of all JBS operation locations are carried out and that proper animal welfare protocols are being followed.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Secretary Vilsack,

Despite claims that they do not tolerate the abuse of animals under any circumstance, JBS USA has continuously come under fire for animal abuse allegations. The most recent incident involved a worker who was reportedly seen striking two cows with a paddle for no reason whatsoever.

This abuse is not uncommon on JBS supply chains which have over 132 similar incidents, 18 of which were considered “egregious.” Animals at JBS supply chains have allegedly been left without access to water, seemingly forced to stand for up to 10 hours on an overcrowded transport vehicle waiting to be slaughtered, and reportedly improperly stunned so that they were still fully conscious while being hung by their legs and having their necks slit open.

Several animal activist groups have stepped forward to expose the alleged suffering of animals on JBS farms and slaughter plants, and some have even demanded that JBS livestream video their illicit operations. JBS has failed to respond to claims of abuse.

We are asking you, Mr. Vilsack, to conduct further investigations into the cruelty allegations at all JBS operations and to ensure that animal welfare protocols are being followed as per the law.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. Disgusting excuses of humans. May every single act of cruelty be revisited upon you and yours.

  2. What is this, still the dark ages? Has human kind not progressed? This is unacceptable and unethical. Stop these abuses from happening. Regulate this cruelty. When will people understand that eating meat is causing these issues? There’s no such thing as ethical killing. Show people what happens to these animals before they get to the grocery stores.
