Success: Permit for Cancer Causing Plastics Factory Suspended

Target: Commanding General Todd T. Semonite U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Goal: Applaud suspension of the Formosa Plastics project

The plans to develop a Formosa Plastic factory in Louisiana are sure to further degrade the environmental health of the area and local residents. In this Forcechange petition, it is made painfully clear that the project would be extremely harmful. The U.S Army Corps of Engineers has suspended the plans for developing the factory in order to reevaluate the permit.

Assuming the pending evaluation is at all legitimate, it must recognize the devastation invoked by the project. The plant would disturb surrounding wetlands and unmarked graves of formerly enslaved people as well as further the environmental impact of polluting plastics. Sign the petition below to applaud the suspension of this factory’s construction, and to encourage that it be completely revoked.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear General Semonite,

I want to thank you for suspending the permit to develop a Formosa Plastic factory in Louisiana. The project would most certainly produce increased toxic pollution that would gravely impact the surrounding wetlands and local communities.

Plastic pollution impacts us all and makes no small contribution to the climate and ecological crisis. I trust that a thorough review of this project and its environmental impact will reveal the importance of revoking the permit and terminating this project altogether.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
