Ducks Allegedly Killed and Used as Photo Props Deserve Justice

Target: Tony Clayton, District Attorney for Louisiana 18th Judicial District

Goal: Prosecute men accused of animal cruelty against ducks to fullest extent.

Another controversy involving college students has arisen, this time in relation to alleged animal cruelty. A vehicle containing 18-year-old Louisiana State University (LSU) attendees Benjamin Peters, John Hutchison, and Colin Doyle reportedly ran over two Muscovy ducks. Confessions from two of the suspects indicate that the vehicular strike and killings may have been intentional.

But the alleged cruelty did not end with the ducks’ deaths. Surveillance video apparently showed the men posing with the deceased ducks and taking selfies. Then, the men were apparently viewed throwing the ducks into a dumpster before leaving the scene. All three suspects have been charged, but only with misdemeanor animal cruelty.

Sign the petition below to demand an upgrade to charges in this heinous alleged offense.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Clayton,

LSU students reportedly admitted to maliciously running over ducks with their vehicle. Then, they were apparently caught on tape not showing remorse for their alleged actions but instead taking selfies with the animals’ carcasses. A slap on the wrist misdemeanor charge will do nothing to set an example for these legal adults who seemingly chose to inflict suffering – and to derive apparent enjoyment from said suffering – on innocent living beings.

Do not enable and implicitly permit these horrendous alleged actions. Without appropriate punishment, escalation can and likely will occur, at the community’s expense. Strengthen charges, seek maximum penalties, and send the right message about this seeming reckless disregard for life.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
