Save the Farmers’ Almanac

Target: Sherin Pierce, Publisher of the Farmer’s Almanac

Goal: Explore ways to continue publication of Farmers’ Almanac.

It’s the end of an era. An iconic publication that farmers, gardeners, and millions of everyday Americans relied on for weather forecasts, tips on gardening, herbal remedies, education, and even a touch of humor is closing its doors after two centuries. The 2026 edition of the Farmer’s Almanac will be the last.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the end of what has not only been an annual tradition in millions of homes and hearths for hundreds of years, but also a way of life, an inspiration for many who realize the wisdom of generations past is the key to the generations of the future,” the publication’s editor announced. Financial pressures and the “chaotic media environment” were cited as driving forces behind the decision. The almanac’s website will close down as well.

Sign the petition below to urge the almanac’s publisher to save a mainstay that has entertained and informed readers for decades.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Sherin Pierce,

The top-secret formula used for Farmers’ Almanac weather predictions has endured through births, deaths, wars, and seismic cultural shifts. This publication has contributed to healthy farms, to the development of master gardeners, and to infusion of small-town charm into the biggest and most boisterous cities. It should not end as another victim of technology.

Please lend your full financial support to a flagship publication. If the almanac is not sustainable in print form, help it live on in digital form. Do not kill this enduring legacy.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
