Target: Walker County, Georgia District Attorney’s Office, Prosecutor
Goal: Ensure action against those allegedly responsible for horrific cruelty that led to the deaths of numerous animals.
The shocking discovery of multiple animals living under horrendous circumstances in Walker County has revealed a serious case of alleged animal cruelty that demands immediate and severe legal repercussions. Five individuals were charged with multiple counts of cruelty and aggravated cruelty to animals after a group of prospective home buyers reportedly found their property in “extremely deplorable conditions.” The conditions reportedly included a dead ferret in a crate, a decomposing bunny, and two deceased goats. Such apparent blatant neglect and disregard for the welfare of these innocent creatures cannot be overlooked.
Further investigations, conducted by Animal Control with assistance from the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, allegedly uncovered even more disturbing details. Officers say they found a home filled with urine-soaked carpets, crammed with caked feces, moldy food, and infested with insects—conditions that no living being should ever endure. A total of 18 animals, including dogs, cats, horses, goats, donkeys, sheep, and a pony, were removed from the premises, yet four of these animals remain in limbo under a court hold. Additionally, homes have been condemned due to the shocking state they were allegedly found in.
This situation calls for urgent action. The scales of justice must balance in favor of the voiceless animals that suffered terribly in this environment. The community demands that the allegations against James Delbert Fields Jr., Miriam Fields, Mario Lopez, Melodie Lopez, and Britni Fields in connection with this case be pursued vigorously to ensure penalties that reflect the gravity of the alleged crimes committed against these vulnerable animals.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear Walker County District Attorney’s Office,
The recent allegations of animal cruelty in Walker County have painted a heartbreaking picture of neglect and suffering that cannot be denied. Five individuals have been charged with not only 13 counts of cruelty to animals each, but also with three counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, following the alleged horrifying discovery of multiple animals living in unspeakable conditions. The evidence presented, including the alleged existence of deceased animals and the shocking state of the home, calls for serious legal consequences.
Officers say they faced not only the sight of dead ferrets and rabbits but also encountered a home that was filled with urine, feces, and decomposing food—conditions that reflect an utter disregard for animal welfare. The removal of 18 animals from this property is just the beginning, as four remain under court holds while others have found temporary refuge at a shelter.
As defenders of these voiceless beings, we urge you to pursue the full extent of justice against those allegedly responsible for these atrocious acts. It is crucial for the safety and well-being of all animals in our community that harsh penalties are enforced, ensuring that this kind of cruelty is met with the seriousness it warrants. Together, we must ensure that justice prevails for the animals who cannot speak for themselves.
Sincerely,
