Demand Justice for Pomsky Reportedly Wounded by Reckless Shooting

Target: Melinda Katz, District Attorney of Queens, NY

Goal: Ensure legal accountability for the seemingly reckless shooting that injured Arya, the Pomsky.

Late one evening in Queens, NY, an alarming event transpired; a six-year-old Pomsky named Arya suffered from a bullet wound. This bullet, allegedly fired by 18-year-old Joshua Marte, traversed a residential window striking Arya. The teen was reportedly mishandling a firearm at the time. Such alleged recklessness not only jeopardized Arya’s life but also breached the sanctity of a family’s home.

The bullet injured Arya’s leg and colon, leading to significant medical intervention including surgery. Following the event, Arya’s condition was critical; she struggled to walk and endured substantial pain. This event highlights the grave risks associated with seemingly irresponsible gun use and raises concerns over public and animal safety. The alleged shooter’s actions reportedly demonstrated a shocking disregard for life and safety.

The imperative for legal action is clear. This petition seeks to ensure that those allegedly responsible face appropriate legal consequences to foster a safer community and justice for Arya. Prevent future negligence and to protect innocent lives from similar harm.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Melinda Katz,

We, the concerned citizens, implore your attention to a grave incident involving a young dog, Arya, who was seriously wounded due to an alleged reckless discharge of a firearm by a local teenager. This incident occurred in Queens, NY, and has deeply disturbed the community, highlighting urgent issues surrounding firearm safety and public security.

The details of this case are distressing. Arya, a beloved family pet, was in her own home when a bullet, allegedly fired by Joshua Marte, penetrated the window and struck her. This act of alleged negligence has not only caused physical harm to Arya but also emotional trauma to her family. The severity of the injury required surgical intervention and has had a lasting impact on Arya’s mobility and quality of life.

Given the circumstances, we urge you to take swift and decisive action. We request that a thorough investigation be conducted and, if warranted, that charges be filed to ensure such a reckless disregard for safety and life is met with appropriate legal consequences. Our community must see justice served in this case to reinforce the seriousness with which such acts are regarded and to deter similar future offenses.

Sincerely,

  1. 18 y/o can’t by alcohol or can’t buy cigarettes but hey lets let them play with guns, what could go wrong!

  2. I hope DS Katz will finally do something to deter this type of harm. The kids with the gun had no business with a gun. Accidents happen however accounts must be paid. A bullet in the window is astonishing. The dog has really suffered. Who is paying the vet bills? All the bills need to be paid by the shooter’s family. These parents must be dragged into court as they too are accountable and guilty. This ignorance is why we have school shootings. The parents of the boy who killed 4 students are serving 15 years. Doll this punishment out and soon you will find that teens are not doing this type of harm any longe. When parents have to pay, things turn around for the better. Until then the parents must pay with money and time in prison!
