Stop Poisoning the Air With Factory Fumes

Target: Commissioner Robert R. Scott, New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services

Goal: Mitigate air pollution in the Merrimack Valley.

Merrimack Valley, a region integral to New Hampshire’s identity, is facing a public health crisis due to escalating levels of air pollution. Emissions from factories, vehicular traffic, and other pollutants are compromising air quality, posing a serious risk to both human health and the environment.

This region is not just a collection of towns and cities; it’s a vital part of New Hampshire’s social fabric. The valley is home to numerous schools, hospitals, and residential areas. Moreover, it’s a hub for several industries that contribute to the state’s economy.

Sign the petition to implore the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, Air Resources Division, to enact immediate, robust measures to combat air pollution in Merrimack Valley. Essential steps should include stricter emission standards for factories, promotion of clean energy alternatives, and public awareness campaigns on air quality.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Commissioner Robert R. Scott,

Merrimack Valley is suffocating. The air we breathe is tainted with pollutants from industrial emissions, vehicular exhaust, and other harmful sources. The consequences are dire: increased respiratory illnesses, environmental degradation, and a compromised quality of life for its residents.

We demand immediate, impactful action. A comprehensive strategy must be developed and implemented to tackle the air pollution affecting Merrimack Valley. This strategy should not only enforce stricter emission standards but also promote community involvement in adopting cleaner, more sustainable lifestyles.

The stakes are high. Merrimack Valley is more than just a geographical region; it’s a community whose health and well-being are in jeopardy.

We beseech you to act with the urgency this critical situation demands. Implement initiatives that will not only alleviate the current air quality issues but also secure a cleaner, healthier future for Merrimack Valley.

Sincerely,

  1. New Hampshire is the richest state in the nation. And this is the best you can do? This valley is so polluted. The air is not fit to breathe. Please don’t try to tell me there is nothing which can be done. As Judge Judy says, “Don’t pee on my leg and then try to tell me it’s raining!”
This nation is not doing what needs to be done and your state is at the top of the list! Polluted air affects animals, wildlife, humans and ocean species. You are well educated people. Use your intelligence to stop the pollution you are allowing to make this planet and your people sick!

    • I agree g. We should be long past the idea that people need to just put up with toxic air. The factories that pollute should be liable for the prevention and clean up of their messes. They are killing this planet we call home.
