Goal: Seek maximum punishment for man accused of beating puppy and throwing him into gate.
The violent attack on a 9-month-old puppy was so severe that bystanders began filming. A man, apparently identified as 29-year-old Anthoin McPherson, is seen violently hitting the puppy and then lifting him up and throwing the puppy into a metal gate.
After the video was provided to authorities, McPherson was arrested and the puppy, named Maximus, was accepted by the Yonkers Animal Shelter. Rescuers reported that Maximus healed quickly, and enjoyed treats and belly rubs during his recovery.
The alleged attacker, McPherson, is facing criminal charges, but as is often the case, there are concerns that he will be given just a slap on the wrist.
As for Maximus, he was quickly adoped by a forever family. “If you look at that video and it doesn’t turn your stomach then you’re not human,” adopter Ricky Vetrano said. Fortunately for Maximus, he is now safe from his attacker.

I hate words like ‘it apperantly shows’ There is nothing about it that can be questioned. He did it, he is seen doing it and he is filmed doing it. What more do you need to keep scum like him away from animals?
I have adopted tan dog two + years ago, the full time care for a dog that was severely abused. Probably seen more abuse and was beaten. Today she can’t even look at another animal or people, no one can pet her or follow her. You get the idea just walking her to do her business is a chore. Although my husband and I love her, she is a lot of work. I am stating the above because I’ve first hand seen how this type of behavior causes these animals to become something totally different than what their personality once were going to be. The person that did this to my dog walked! Please make sure that this offender gets the full extent of the law & in due progress, make sure they are unable to be around or have any animals in his possession!! Thank you!

The only way we will stop ANY abuse is to instill the same type of abuse on the abuser, even if that results in death. Our court systems are a joke. Let’s go back to the old wild west ways of punishment.
Again, another video of people filming abuses & doing absolutely nothing. Just filming. I don’t get it. My phone wouldn’t even be a thought. I would risk my life by running over there & immediately stopping what was happening & removing the dog from the situation. If things get violent, oh well, I’m here for the dog.
