Pit Bulls Allegedly Starved and Left in Filth: Seek Justice

Target: Randi Freese, McHenry County State’s Attorney, Illinois

Goal: Seek full prosecution after multiple pit bulls were allegedly starved in feces-filled conditions and denied medical care.

Court records describe a deeply disturbing situation in which multiple pit bulls were starved and denied adequate medical treatment. Two 4-year-old dogs, Max and Eleven, were found on a property where they allegedly showed visible signs of starvation, including emaciation with ribs and hips protruding through their skin. Authorities stated that the dogs were infested with flea and tick bites and had urine burns on multiple parts of their bodies.

In a separate case involving different dogs, two additional pit bulls were allegedly found in similarly emaciated conditions. A court motion stated that four dogs were living in an area full of feces and urine consistent with long-term neglect. Prosecutors have also referenced statements claiming that two other dogs in the defendant’s care died and were wrapped in plastic and stored in bins rather than properly disposed of. The defendant’s attorney has reportedly stated that he is innocent of the charges.

When multiple animals are allegedly malnourished, infested, and living in unfit conditions, and when prior similar allegations exist, decisive legal action is essential. Demand full prosecution, if the evidence supports these claims, to protect vulnerable animals and to ensure that alleged patterns of cruelty are not permitted to continue.

PETITION LETTER:

Attorney Randi Freese,

We write to express serious concern regarding reports that several pit bulls were starved, left emaciated with visible ribs and spines, and confined in areas filled with feces and urine. Two dogs were reportedly found malnourished and suffering from flea and tick infestations and urine burns.

Court filings reference additional allegations involving other dogs who were found in similar conditions, as well as claims that two dogs died while in the defendant’s care and were wrapped in plastic and stored in bins. These allegations, if substantiated, suggest a deeply troubling pattern.

We respectfully urge your office to pursue full prosecution to the fullest extent permitted by law should the evidence support these allegations. Strong accountability is essential to safeguard vulnerable animals and to deter any recurrence of alleged cruelty.

Sincerely,
