Horse Trainer Accused of Kicking and Beating Horse During Training Session: Demand Justice

Target: William “Bill” Gladson, State Attorney, Fifth Judicial Circuit, Marion County, Florida

Goal: Pursue full prosecution and meaningful penalties after a horse trainer was accused of violently abusing a horse entrusted to his care.

A deeply disturbing case has emerged after a video circulated on social media showing a horse trainer allegedly violently abusing a horse during a training session. According to investigators, the footage depicts the trainer kicking the horse in the abdomen multiple times while the animal showed visible signs of fear and distress. The video was provided to authorities by the horse’s owner and prompted an immediate investigation.

Law enforcement stated that the individual seen in the footage later acknowledged being the person shown and admitted that his conduct was inappropriate. Deputies reported that the abuse included kicking, punching, and forcefully yanking the reins and bridle, actions equine experts say can cause pain, fear-based responses, and long-term physical harm. Although a veterinarian later determined the horse to be physically healthy, experts emphasized that abuse does not always leave lasting visible injuries.

When animals are placed in the care of professional trainers, owners must be able to trust that humane and ethical standards will be upheld. This petition calls for firm prosecution and accountability to ensure that alleged acts of cruelty in animal training are taken seriously and that animals are protected from abuse.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear State Attorney Gladson,

We are writing to express grave concern over allegations that a horse trainer in Marion County abused a horse during a training session. Video evidence reportedly shows the trainer kicking the horse repeatedly, forcefully yanking the reins and bridle, and subjecting the animal to violent handling while it displayed clear signs of distress.

The accused has reportedly acknowledged being the individual shown in the footage and admitted that his behavior was inappropriate. Equine experts have stated that such actions are not recognized training methods and can cause both physical injury and lasting psychological harm, even when outward injuries are not immediately apparent.

We respectfully urge your office to pursue this case to the fullest extent of the law and seek penalties that reflect the seriousness of the alleged conduct. Strong prosecution is essential to protect animals, uphold public trust, and send a clear message that abuse disguised as training will not be tolerated.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
