Justice for Dog Allegedly Beaten Outside Casino by Intoxicated Man

Target: Steve Wolfson, Clark County, NV District Attorney

Goal: Seek the strongest criminal penalties after a dog was allegedly assaulted in public and left hiding in fear.

Authorities have reported a disturbing case where casino security officers say they witnessed a man physically striking a dog outside a busy casino. According to arrest reports, security personnel observed the man hitting the dog multiple times before the animal fled and hid under a bush, appearing visibly distressed and fearful.

Video footage reviewed by police seemingly shows the man continuing to strike the dog and later confronting a passerby in an aggressive manner. Security officers stated that the man appeared heavily intoxicated and became verbally aggressive when escorted off the property. When police arrived, the suspect was reportedly too intoxicated to be questioned, yet was still in possession of the dog.

The dog was taken into protective custody and transferred to an animal welfare facility for care. Acts of violence against animals in public spaces not only cause severe suffering to defenseless animals but also pose a broader threat to public safety. This petition calls for firm prosecution and meaningful penalties to ensure accountability and deter future abuse.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Wolfson,

We are writing to express grave concern over reports that a dog was beaten outside a casino, an incident witnessed by security officers and captured on video. According to arrest records, the dog was seen fleeing and hiding in fear after being struck multiple times.

As reported, the suspect appeared intoxicated and aggressive, yet remained in possession of the dog until law enforcement intervened. The animal was later taken to a shelter for care, underscoring the seriousness of the alleged harm and distress inflicted.

We respectfully urge your office to pursue this case to the fullest extent of the law. Please seek strong penalties that reflect the severity of the alleged abuse and send a clear message that violence against animals in public spaces will not be tolerated in Clark County.

Sincerely,
