Target: Pennsylvania Game Commission Executive Director, Stephen Smith
Goal: Ensure strict penalties for illegal poaching of deer and prevent future wildlife crimes.
The reported unlawful killing of 19 deer by three Somerset County males, who apparently hunted at night using spotlights and shot from vehicles, highlights a disturbing trend in wildlife crimes that must be addressed immediately. According to reports, many of the carcasses were left to rot, showcasing a blatant disrespect for wildlife and natural resources. This incident not only suggests a disregard for the law but also for ethical behavior.
Further investigation revealed that these individuals may have illegally killed as many as 31 deer over a short two-month period in 2020. The penalties imposed, including hefty fines and multi-decade suspensions of hunting privileges, may not be sufficient to deter such egregious behavior in the future. It is essential that the Pennsylvania Game Commission take stronger measures to ensure those who engage in illegal poaching face appropriate repercussions. This should include the implementation of stricter regulations and potential stiffer penalties for future offenders to serve as a deterrent.
It is crucial to recognize that poaching not only threatens wildlife populations but also undermines conservation efforts aimed at sustaining these species for future generations. Responsible and ethical wildlife management is vital for the ecological balance and should be prioritized. The demand is clear: the Pennsylvania Game Commission must pursue rigorous enforcement of wildlife protection laws, ensuring that all individuals involved in poaching face not only financial penalties but also jail time.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear Mr. Smith,
The illegal poaching of 19 white-tailed deer, allegedly by three individuals in Somerset County who hunted at night using spotlights and shot from vehicles, is a troubling reminder of the serious wildlife crimes that threaten our natural resources. Reportedly, many of the deceased deer were left to rot, reflecting a shocking lack of respect and responsibility towards our wildlife. These actions seem to not only violate hunting laws but also disrupt the ecological balance that conservation efforts strive to maintain.
While penalties have been imposed, including fines and loss of hunting privileges, the existing consequences may not be enough to deter repeat offenders. It is imperative that the Pennsylvania Game Commission raises the bar for wildlife protection measures, ensuring that those who commit these crimes face stricter penalties, including jail time.
We urge you to take immediate action to safeguard our wildlife and uphold hunting regulations. It is essential to implement stricter penalties for those found guilty of poaching and to instill a better understanding of ethical behavior within the community. This is crucial for protecting the future of our wildlife and the principles of conservation.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]

I hate poachers I hate hunters and those people that over hunt…. hunt illegally and those that are poachers believe me they’ll get what’s coming to them one day maybe not today and maybe not tomorrow but, we all get judged and we all get with coming to us all at once.
Give a man a gun and this is what he bloody does
Destructive destructive destructive
But of course, US laws don’t do anything except a slight slap on the wrist. And all goes with his gun again.
These low life jerks have not one iota of respect for animals or wildlife. They had fun killing all the deer and because your penalties are so minimal, they know they can get away with it without many consequences. Put them in jail for a long time and I will guarantee they won’t keep doing this.
Pienso lo mismo Sandra !!!!
Unfortunately the IQ of these inbred red necks is a match for the amount of deer they killed and left to rot. You are dealing with imbeciles here, the hunters and the judiciary alike. These hill billy states are an embarrassment to civilised society and are like a disease that has no cure. The best we can hope for is that they all die in hunting ‘accidents’ very soon.
It is imperative that the Pennsylvania Game Commission take stronger measures to ensure those who engage in illegal poaching face appropriate repercussions. This should include the implementation of stricter regulations and potential stiffer penalties for future offenders to serve as a deterrent.
MY CENTIMENTS EXACTLY I SAY JUST EXACUTE THESE LESS THAN HUMAN BEINGS SICK PHYCOPATHS JUDGES AND DISTRICT ATTORNEYS GET OFF YOUR ASSES AND DO YOUR JOBS PENNSYLVANIA IS LOOKING PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is absolute despicable behavior and the Representatives from all our States need to Stop this Cruelty and make the Punishment match the CRIMES.
This website gets worse every day
It’s not the website. It’s the repulsive degenerate behavior of idiots they have to report.
Doesn’t say when this took place, but this time of year, May, they have babies, so that’d be a no no. But I do have to say, 31!, my lands. Sounds like they needed to be thinned out. So tired of them in the highways, eating down my garden and so forth. The gov needs to do more to control their numbers to a reasonable population for the area. So without knowing the rest of the facts, I can’t sign it. If they are shooting 31 deer from the street w/o even leaving their car, I can’t imagine how many wrecks and car damage and injuries that prevented.
Carmen, you’re a disgusting excuse for a human being. No one ever talks about the human population needing to be thinned out, which it does, and you’re definitely one of them who needs to go. And stop driving, because you’re clearly too stupid to drive.
The deer and the rest of the animals in your area were there before your garbage ass. Seems like you need to be the one to go.
Only men with tiny manhoods do this kind of thing…such cowards.
Slap these POS with Huge fines and don’t allow them a license for 10 yrs. This was nothing but a callous disregard of life, laws and decency. These animals are trying to live in a world of shrinking land space, expanding highways, speeding traffic with no safe way to get between piecemeal land space and a water source. Did the lowlifes have a new big gun and they had to shoot something living to see the destruction? Mother? Baby? This behavior needs to be made public and the consequences, which should be the Maximum, should also be publicized. Enforce the laws! If they’re not a deterrent, Make them a Deterrent!!
I don’t think that taking away their licenses will do anything. Who even said they have licenses? THEY’RE POACHING!!! Hit them in the pocketbook with higher fines. Money talks.
Need to add prison time to the fines.
How a about we chase these three P.O.S. ARSEHOLES and take pot shots? Jail this scum. They are COWARDS.
True hunters DESPISE poachers. Not only a wonton disregard for life, and hunting laws, but to then leave the meat to rot when responsible hunters use the meat they harvest. These guys see to go away for a long time, loose their hunting rights, their firearms and maybe even their vehicles. Disgusting!!!
One can not even say this is one of the problems with hunting because this was killing for the sake of blood thirst and ego, plain and simple. I wouldn’t mind doing some hunting-I would like to hunt those guys down and give them just what they gave those deer though maybe death would come a little more slowly for them.
💔💔 RIP
THESES JERKS GIVES HUNTING A BAD NAME!
This is a terrible crime. Harshest punishment possible for those who committed it.
These morons need to be punished. What an atrocious act to kill so many deer and just leave them. Please charge them with animal cruelty and punish severely. The punishments for animal cruelty need to be strengthened.
Why do Americans love to kill, kill, kill all the time? Don’t these wannabee-Davy Crocketts know that we live in the 21st Century – not the 18th?
Sadistic MFer’s !!!
YOUR FINES AND SUSPENSIONS ARE PATHETIC WHEN IT COMES TO MONSTERS. THESE ARE FELONIES AND ALSO SHOULD THEREFORE BE BANNED FOR LIFE. CONFISCATE ALL RIFLES AND LIST THEM TO BE BANNED FOR LIFFFFFFFFFFFE!!! Your slaps on the wrist are clearly NOT WORKING. THEY KILLED OVER 50 DEER!! WHEN WILL THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM GET IT RIGHT!!!! These madmen have no respect for anything!!!!
They need to be hunted down until they are no longer able to hunt agaiN!!
Deer are sweet peaceful beings….IMAGINE!!!!
Shoot the hunters and poachers! They like hunting so much – we need to start hunting them!
