Target: Kim Ogg, District Attorney for Harris County, TX
Goal: Prosecute man accused of deadly neglect of pets to fullest extent.
Authorities in Texas responded to reports of around 20 ball python snakes being kept on a balcony, possibly without access to food or water. When police responded, they apparently discovered some dead snakes and about a dozen severely emaciated pythons. More of the snakes reportedly died after the rescue.
A witness alleged that the man who lived on the property possibly did not nourish the pet snakes. Authorities seemingly verified that the snakes had not been fed for months. Moreover, their body temperature (which is regulated by their environment) was apparently drastically lower than normal.
While the man surrendered the snakes, no details were provided about any criminal charges. Sign the petition below to demand justice for these victims of alleged deadly neglect.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear DA Ogg,
The recent rescue of a dozen ball python snakes from an apartment balcony merits legal action. Several of the animals involved in the case are reportedly deceased, and nearly every pet was seemingly at the brink of death. If not for the intervention of a good Samaritan, all of these animals could possibly be dead.
Please keep apprised of the investigation and, if the facts support it, bring maximum possible animal cruelty charges. No vulnerable animal dependent on the good will of humans should be dismissed or forgotten
Sincerely,
