PetSmart: Take a Stand Against Allegedly Abusive Reptile Breeder

Target: J.K. Symancyk, CEO of PetSmart

Goal: Stop selling live animals allegedly sourced from cruel suppliers to prevent further animal suffering.

A whistleblower has reportedly exposed disturbing evidence of severe animal cruelty at a reptile breeding facility supplying animals to a major pet store chain. Video footage allegedly shows bearded dragons shaking and twitching uncontrollably, purportedly due to a suspected virus, and suffering from severed limbs and tails. The whistleblower claims that animals were denied basic necessities, including water, and that 69 bearded dragons were found dead within an eight-week period.

Further allegations suggest that the facility took no measures to contain the virus, potentially shipping sick animals to pet stores nationwide. It is also reported that the facility failed to maintain sanitary conditions, with plastic tubs confining the reptiles going uncleaned for up to a week. Before scheduled visits from pet store representatives, staff were allegedly instructed to “deep clean” certain areas to conceal the poor conditions.

These reports raise serious concerns about animal welfare in the pet trade industry. Continuing to sell live animals sourced from such suppliers may contribute to the suffering of countless creatures. It is imperative that immediate action is taken to ensure that animals are treated humanely. Demand that the pet store chain ceases the sale of live animals from suppliers allegedly involved in cruelty and implements stricter oversight to prevent future abuse.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. Symancyk,

I am writing to express deep concern over reports of severe animal cruelty at a reptile breeding facility that allegedly supplies live animals to your stores. Whistleblower evidence has reportedly uncovered disturbing conditions, including bearded dragons shaking uncontrollably due to a suspected virus, suffering from severed limbs and tails, and being denied basic necessities like water. It is also alleged that 69 bearded dragons were found dead within an eight-week period.

These allegations suggest a serious lapse in animal welfare standards and raise concerns about the treatment of animals within your supply chain. Continuing to source animals from facilities where such conditions are reportedly present not only contributes to the suffering of these creatures but also undermines consumer trust in your commitment to ethical practices.

I urge you to take immediate action by ceasing the sale of live animals sourced from suppliers allegedly involved in animal cruelty. Please implement stricter oversight and auditing of your supply chain to ensure that all animals are treated humanely and that such abuses do not occur in the future. By doing so, you can demonstrate a strong commitment to animal welfare and uphold the values that your customers expect.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
