Justice for Dog Allegedly Killed by Golf Course Vehicle

Target: Alison Broom, Chief Executive of Maidstone Borough Council, England

Goal: Ensure thorough investigation and accountability for the reported death of a dog struck by a golf course vehicle.

A family is devastated after their three-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, Poppy, was allegedly struck and killed by a utility vehicle on a golf course. The dog’s owner claims that the vehicle, driven by a groundsman, hit Poppy, resulting in her instant death. The incident has raised concerns about safety measures and accountability at the golf course, which is frequented by dog walkers and families.

Despite the family’s distress, they allege that the golf course management has not offered an apology or taken responsibility for the incident. The police were called and investigated but reportedly concluded that no criminal offenses had been committed. The family’s attempts to seek justice and closure have, according to them, been met with indifference.

This tragic event highlights the need for thorough investigations into such incidents and the implementation of safety protocols to prevent future occurrences. It is imperative that the authorities and the golf course management address the family’s concerns, ensure accountability, and take steps to enhance safety for all visitors. Demand that a comprehensive investigation is conducted and appropriate actions are taken to provide justice for Poppy and her family.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Ms. Broom,

I am writing to express deep concern over the reported incident involving the death of a three-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named Poppy, who was allegedly struck and killed by a utility vehicle on a golf course owned by Maidstone Borough Council. The dog’s family is heartbroken and has expressed that they have not received an apology or seen any accountability from the golf course management.

Such a tragic event not only brings immense sorrow to the affected family but also raises serious questions about the safety measures in place for visitors and their pets at the golf course. It is troubling to hear that despite the family’s efforts, their concerns have allegedly been met with indifference, and no further action has been taken following the police’s conclusion.

I urge you to initiate a thorough investigation into this incident to determine the circumstances that led to Poppy’s death. It is important that accountability is established and that steps are taken to prevent such incidents in the future. By addressing this matter promptly and compassionately, you can help restore trust within the community and ensure the safety of all who visit the golf course.

Sincerely,

Clearly, this was no accident. A golf cart should not go so fast as to not be able to stop quickly, and a golf course gives visability to the driver of any dogs around. More Likely, the driver deliberately hit the dog, maybe he does not like having to clear up dog mess if any is left by careless owners. That does not give him the right to murder an innocent dog. Disgraceful!

  2. i need more info before condemning the driver. Was the dog on a leash as it should be in public or was the owner also careless and letting the dog run free. Was the driver speeding or did the dog run in front of a moving vehicle and he just didn’t have time to stop. Seems a golf course is no place for people to walk dogs. Go to a park or a dog park.
