In a deeply troubling alleged case of animal cruelty, Antonio Lamont Price, a 53-year-old resident of Dunn, North Carolina, has been arrested following allegations of severely beating his dog with an axe handle. Witnesses reported seeing Price strike the dog, leading to the dog’s severe injuries, including a broken jaw. According to police reports, the incident was discovered when Officer Benjamin Green responded to a call regarding suspected animal abuse at Price’s residence on East Divine Street.
Upon arrival, Officer Green engaged with Price, who initially stated that one of his dogs had tried to bite him. When asked about the reported beating, Price reportedly admitted to using a stick, later identified as an axe handle, to discipline the dog. The officer discovered a “very hesitant” brown Boxer in the backyard, apparently showing signs of trauma, including a laceration on its face, swollen eyes, and bleeding from the mouth. Dunn Animal Control Director Courtney Hayter stated that the dog had appeared to have sustained head trauma, with pupils of different sizes and visible swelling, indicating suspected severe mistreatment.
Hayter noted that the dog, which was also pawing at its face, appeared to suffer from a broken jaw. The conditions in which the dogs were kept were reportedly deemed unfit, lacking proper shelter, food, or water. As a result, three dogs were seized from the property to ensure their safety and well-being.
During the seizure, Price reportedly exhibited aggressive behavior, punching the animal control vehicle and resisting arrest, leading to additional charges of resisting a public officer and injuring personal property. Price was subsequently taken into custody and held at the Harnett County Detention Center on a $5,000 secured bond.
Reportedly, the most critically injured dog, a brindle female pit bull, required emergency surgery to repair her injured mouth and is currently recovering under veterinary care. Due to the severity of the injuries apparently inflicted upon the dog, the District Attorney’s office is considering elevating the animal cruelty charge against Price to a felony. Ensure the highest possible charges against the alleged perpetrator.

This monster needs to be fined and jailed,never, ever to be authorized to have any animal again, or be near any animals.This poor dog suffered horribly and all other animals on the premises are, and have been living in terror of this despicable trash,this being.Please for all of these animals’ sake get each one rehomed with a good person or family of caring people.
I thought animal abuse is a felony. Why are they not all being treated as such? I don’t understand why this country is so lax on animal abuse. Anyone who abuses an animal should be charged with a felony. Period. They need to spend Time In jail. Not just a few years. Serious time! There needs to be an animal abuser registry. And they should have a permanent lifetime ban on owning or being around animals. I’m so sick of hearing about animal abuse. Until we have tougher laws this will only continue.

Check out red ‘Republican’ states where not as many animal welfare laws being passed and enforced vs. blue and purple ‘Democrat (blue),and Independent and other’ states where animal welfare laws are More easily passed and enforced. You will see a huge discrepancy difference as money buys corrupt officials and corrupt lawmakers stop animal cruelty and animal welfare laws from passing into law. Equally as disturbing as this heinous abuse of these poor dogs, is the fact that people are even questioning the validity of his excuse for this behaviour. Those dogs will have shook with terror at the very sight of this abomination and would never have TRIED to bite him. His sadistic, evil, monstrous behaviour indicates that lying is something that this beast will do all the time to justify his cruel and evil nature. I am horrified to think how many poor animals have suffered at the hands and weapons of this atrocious creature.
