Police Dog Allegedly Left to Overheat in Closed Car Deserves Justice

Target: Ms. Betsy Coffey, Doddridge County Prosecuting Attorney, West Virginia

Goal: Investigate and prosecute individuals allegedly responsible for animal cruelty and enforce stricter animal welfare laws.

In a deeply troubling incident, Pennsboro Police Chief Travis Ray Snuffer is accused of leaving his police dog, Judge, in a closed police cruiser without ventilation, resulting in the dog overheating. West Union Police Chief C.K. Garner alleges that when outside temperatures ranged from 85 to 90 degrees, Snuffer left the dog in his 2009 Dodge Charger with all windows up and no air conditioning while he went to Clarksburg, Harrison County.

Charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty, Snuffer was released on a $6,000 bond and has pleaded not guilty. If convicted, he faces jail time and a ban on being around animals for five years. Pennsboro city officials are investigating the allegations, but no action has been taken regarding Snuffer’s job status as of now.

This incident underscores the urgent need for strict enforcement of animal welfare laws. Prevent such alleged abuses and ensure the well-being of animals.

  1. Now way this POS should get away with this! Definitely was trying to kill that poor dog. Fire that garbage. Why should that thing practice law. So sick of cops not being charged with animal cruelty. That vile monstrous POS.

  2. This is the Chief of the department? HOW DUMB CAN YOUU GET? I guess the dog was put to sleep. but 6 K is not enough to heat this man as he hurt his dog. This man deserves prison. He should suffer the way his dog suffered. Damn this man as he forgot his friend and partner. That’s totally cold even for the police. This keeps happening. I understand accidents but If you can’t remember then set your watch and when the alarm goes off, go get the dog! To be in charge of a unit is a responsibility but this man shows no responsibility. He must take full accountability for what happened as he is not innocent!
