Target: Marty Jackley, Attorney General of South Dakota
Goal: Ensure a thorough investigation into Kristi Noem’s alleged actions against her pets to prevent future cruelty.
In a recent account from her forthcoming book, Kristi Noem, Governor of South Dakota and a political figure, recounts personal stories that have ignited widespread concern and backlash. She describes events where her own dog, Cricket, along with a male goat, were reportedly killed under her direction due to behavior issues, which she claims rendered them problematic for farm life. These acts, as alleged in her narrative, highlight a deeply troubling approach to handling pet animals that were considered unmanageable.
Governor Noem’s description of the incidents involves the dog’s disruptive behavior during a hunting trip and a subsequent attack on a local family’s chickens. Following these events, she decided to euthanize Cricket, describing the dog as untrainable and dangerous. Additionally, a similar fate met the family’s goat, which she also deemed too aggressive to keep. The manner in which these animals were put down, as recounted by Noem, has sparked outrage among animal lovers and critics alike, pointing to a severe lack of compassion and a disturbing method of dealing with animal behavior.
The necessity for this petition arises from the urgent need to address such actions, which may set a concerning precedent if left unchallenged. It is imperative that we demand accountability and encourage practices that prioritize humane treatment and proper behavior management of animals. Address these specific incidents and advocate for broader reforms in how pets and farm animals are treated, ensuring they live their lives free from undue harm and suffering.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear Attorney General Marty Jackley,
We, a concerned community of citizens, urge you to initiate a comprehensive investigation into the alleged incidents described by Governor Kristi Noem regarding her actions towards her dog, Cricket, and a goat, as detailed in her upcoming book. These accounts, which detail the killing of both animals under circumstances that highlight potential cruelty, necessitate a thorough examination by your office.
Governor Noem’s narrative suggests that both animals were euthanized after exhibiting problematic behaviors. However, the described method and her subsequent justification raise serious ethical and moral questions about the treatment of animals under her care. Such actions should not be normalized nor excused as mere farm management practices. It is crucial to establish clear standards for animal welfare and ensure that all individuals, regardless of their position, adhere to these principles.
We implore you to take immediate action to investigate these matters. By doing so, you will send a strong message that animal cruelty is taken seriously and that appropriate measures are taken to prevent such instances in the future. We ask for transparency in the investigation process and for appropriate measures to be enforced should wrongdoing be confirmed.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]

Laws need to be strengthened and enforced for innocent animals. The animal abuse is out of control. Sick humans who enjoy this entertainment need to be euthanized
I hope she doesn’t have any behavourial issues or someone may decide her fate. The only thing we can hope for is she understands what she did may not have been the most suitable decision. Better yet she could have taken them to a reputable shelter and allow the staff and volunteers to work and re-adopt them.
She could learn to have patience and train her pets responsibly.
