Animals ‘as close as they could be to dying of starvation and still be breathing’ Deserve Justice

Target: Brandy Cook, District Attorney of Rowan County, North Carolina, US

Goal: Prosecute and hold accountable those responsible for the alleged animal cruelty and starvation in Rowan County.

Recently, a harrowing discovery was made in Rowan County. Investigators found several dogs and ducks in a state of severe neglect at a residence on Upland Trail. This case has sparked widespread outrage, drawing attention to the plight of animals subjected to such conditions. The homeowner, reportedly admitted to leaving these animals unattended for about a month. The alleged neglect and starvation led to the death of multiple ducks and chickens, a disturbing observation apparently made by neighbors.

The veterinarian who treated the dogs apparently said that the animals were “as close as they could be to dying of starvation and still be breathing.”

Horne now faces 14 animal cruelty charges and four charges of felony death by starvation. Despite the adoption of three dogs into new homes, the trauma and suffering endured by these animals remain a stark reminder of the cruelty they allegedly faced. The details of this case, including the allegedly prolonged period of abandonment and the resulting fatalities, paint a grim picture. This situation calls for a thorough investigation and legal action against those responsible for these heinous acts.

The demand for justice in this case is not just about punishment but about sending a clear message against animal cruelty. It is imperative that individuals who engage in such reprehensible acts are held accountable. This petition calls for the full extent of legal action to be taken against those allegedly responsible for the suffering and deaths of these animals. Prevent similar cases of neglect and cruelty in the future.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Brandy Cook,

I am writing to you regarding the deeply disturbing case of alleged animal cruelty and starvation on Upland Trail in Rowan County. In November 2023, several animals were reportedly found in a state of severe neglect, leading to the death of multiple ducks and chickens. The owner of these animals is accused of leaving them unattended for an extended period, resulting in extreme suffering and, in some cases, death.

This case highlights a significant issue of animal welfare and the consequences of neglect. The animals in this instance allegedly endured prolonged starvation and neglect, leading to a tragic outcome. It is crucial that such cases are treated with the severity they deserve, to deter future instances of cruelty and neglect. The suffering of these animals must not be in vain.

I urge you to take decisive action in this case. The evidence, as reported, suggests a clear violation of animal welfare laws. The charges against the owner, including 14 counts of animal cruelty and four counts of felony death by starvation, warrant a thorough and just prosecution. This case serves as an important opportunity to uphold the law and demonstrate that such cruelty will not be tolerated. I trust in your commitment to justice and the well-being of all creatures.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

No animal deserves to be the victim of DEHUMANIZED and DESENSITIZED SADISTIC PSYCHOPATHS!! This satanic pathological monster must be severely punished, MAX JAIL or DEATH PENALTY! He must also be forbidden from coming near/owning animals ever again.
SET a PRECEDENT, and punish to the full extent of the law!

    • Patricia Lamonica says:

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT EXACUTE THIS LESS THAN HUMAN BEING SICK PHYCOPATH WHICH NEEDS TO BE THE LAW FOR ALL AND ANY ANIMAL ABUSERS!!!!!!!!!!

    • I couldn’t have said it better!!! It’s just heart wrenching and irresponsible to say the least!!

  2. Shannon Leahy says:

Let the perpetrator of this abuse and neglect feel the outrage of their despicable act of cruelty from the community with a punishment that fits the crime, and please ensure that this person never owns animals again.

  3. I HATE SAME HUMANS THEY DESERVE TO BREATHE THE OXYGEN

  4. Carol Pearce says:

This person or persons must face the fullest extent of the law and NOT A WRAP ACROSS THE WRIST which appears to be the norm. These animals are living, breathing beings and must not be abused in any way. Jail them and throw the key away. they do not deserve to breathe.

  5. SCUMBAG EVIL CUNT HORNE needs to be locked up for life! Nothing but a POS.

  6. Stephanie Geyser says:

The owner, Grace Charlene Horne, was probably stuffing her fat cakehole while her animals starved. If it was up to me, I would sentence her to be starved for as long as she starved her animals – to teach her a lesson that she won’t forget in a hurry.

  7. What is wrong with neighbours who say they witnessed these animals starving to death???? Why did they not intervene? Why wasn’t whatever passes for animal control called daily. Why did no one help these animals. The owner deserves to be in jail. The neighbours deserve to have a guilty conscience if nothing else.

    • Tammy Rossetti says:

ABSOLUTELY!!! They should be arrested for being useless!! Shouldn’t there be laws against sheer ignorance?

  8. Tammy Rossetti says:

The name??? Always need a name. Someone this stupid has to be supervised. Probably can’t even tie her own shoes. It would be nice to be able to publicize a name for humiliation’s sake, or for us to make a visit….

  9. Jacqueline Adams “ Torture the Sh*t” says:

What is wrong with this madman?? Horne cannot own any animal, ever!! Ducks, chickens doges etc!!

  10. Maria Lavorato says:

These dear little chickens, ducks and dogs went through unthinkable suffering!. SOME DIED!!!!! EVERY LIFE COUNTS.

All individuals responsible for these despicable acts need to be held accountable to the full extent of the law. PLEASE give them the justice they deserve. Ban all responsible from ever having another animal FOR LIFE!
They endured prolonged periods of abandonment and starvation and we don’t know what else!!11!

Let the punishment fit the crime so that we send a CLEAR MESSAGE that ALL animals need to be treated with compassion and humanity. INSPIRE COMPASSION!!!!

  11. As a DA I am sure you understand these appalling actions demand punishment. America has a problem with a faulty legal system, just look at the Supreme Court! Yet America is considered a nation of laws but no justice. This can not continue. We are a society of laws which this man broke. He caused torturous deaths which he should have to endure himself. Our laws aren’t effective in stopping abuse. This perp must never own, work with or be around animals for the rest of his horrible life. Society must obey our laws, but not this man? He needs to be tried by his peers in a court of law. To do less is to hamper the law’s ability to punish, restrict, and end these abusers torment and torture of all animals! He also must pay for the medical bills and rehab of these dogs. Can’t pay? Put a lean on his house, stop all loans, repo. cars and boats. Make this man suffer the loss of money as I’m sure that will make him obey laws in the future.

  12. Well I call them sub Humans inbreds twats if they can do this to these dogs what would they do to a baby. Bring back fucking hanging I keep fucking saying this. Kill them twats

  13. I will always say, the perfect punishment for what these miserable POS humans do to animals is to do the same to them.

  14. Maria Lavorato says:

    Good thoughts t !

Take all that money and possessions and revert it back to the animals that suffered and animal charities….

  15. UncommonSensesc says:

The bitch that did this is Grace Charlene Horne and she had 38 counts of animal cruelty. One of the dogs was too weak from starvation to stand. Damnit! The cops should have taken that bitch to the woods and made some animals safe. She has no right to be breathing the same air as those dogs and any other animals she was starving and neglecting.

  16. Agree all comments do the same to them . Tie them up leave to starve and rot in hell see how they feel. Justice now. Laws need to change to own breed sell animals. Too much goes on.Eye fir a eye. Starve the bitch slow. Dint want these sort of people in the world.

  17. Kate DelCorpo says:

I have a hard time making any kind of donation since the guilty party’s name and address are never published. Reminds me of a scam

  18. Jaime Perez says:

Those poor animals did not deserve this horrible fate. The person who did this is a disgusting, reprehensible monster who never be allowed near another animal. Get this freak out of society!

  19. A c*rse on the scum responsible for this. Lock them up and LEAVE THEM TO ROT!! Of course that will never happen because that would be against sentient rights, however, these innocent souls’ rights were not upheld. Despicable scumbag.

  20. Wendy Morrison says:

MAKE ALL THESE CRUEL AND ABUSIVE IDIOTS TO LIVE THE REST OF THEIR MISERABLE LIVES AS YHESE INNOCENT DEFENSELESS DOGS AND DUCKS AND ANY OTHER ANIMALS HAD TO ENDURE IN ROWLAND, NC IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!
