Stop Performing Animal Sacrifice in the Name of Religious Practice

Target: Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar

Goal: End animal sacrifices at Shyama Mai temple, enforcing humane religious practices.

In the serene precincts of Shyama Mai temple in the state of Bihar in India, a disturbing ritual lurks. Allegations have emerged of animal sacrifices being conducted, despite recent controversy and a supposed ban. This practice, deeply entrenched in tradition, continues to shock and dismay those who value animal welfare. The temple management, while stating neutrality, implicitly permits these acts, leading to a complex and emotionally charged situation.

Recent changes by the temple committee, including building walls around sacrificial areas, suggest a shift towards concealment rather than cessation. Meanwhile, calls for symbolic sacrifices, like chopping ash gourds or breaking coconuts, have emerged as humane alternatives. Yet, these have not quelled the persistence of actual animal sacrifices. A blend of religious fervor and tradition fuels these acts, often overshadowing the plight of the animals involved.

This situation demands urgent intervention. Respect for religious practices must harmoniously coexist with the principles of compassion and non-violence. Call upon the authorities to enforce the ban on animal sacrifices at Shyama Mai temple.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear CM Nitish Kumar,

We write to you with a deep sense of urgency and concern regarding the ongoing issue at Shyama Mai temple in Darbhanga. Reports of animal sacrifices, despite the ban, are alarming and demand your immediate attention. The temple committee’s recent actions, including constructing barriers around sacrificial areas, have not alleviated the situation. Instead, they have merely obscured it.

While the temple management espouses neutrality, their stance indirectly perpetuates these practices. Symbolic sacrifices have been suggested as alternatives, yet the traditional sacrifice of animals reportedly continues. This not only raises ethical concerns but also reflects poorly on our collective commitment to compassion and non-violence. It is crucial to understand that religious practices can evolve to be more humane and in tune with modern ethical standards.

Therefore, we urge you to take decisive action. Enforce the ban on animal sacrifices at Shyama Mai temple, ensuring compliance through effective monitoring and regulation. Promote symbolic rituals that respect both religious sentiments and animal welfare. It is time to lead a change that honors our rich cultural heritage while upholding our duty towards all living beings.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

  1. How horrible can they get monsters

  2. Dr. Veronica Rynn says:

India, Nepal…what the hell is wrong with people? This is not what God intended…..

  3. I don’t understand the reason animals are sacrificed in order to know God. Is it from the Bible? They did sacrifices then but not now. Today we know animals feel pain and fear. I’m not sure this would please God I any way. If God is pure Love, he is that and only that for all of us. God has no preference for this group or that color, this race or that religion. God is simply pure Love which most of us can’t even fathom.

  4. Perverted, sadistic, satanic cruelty. Mentally deficient humans!!!

  5. Ban animal sacrifices, its outdated cruel and inhumane! Worse of all, its carried out in a Godly place! These people arent humans, they are monsters and they dont deserve to be God’s children!

  6. Ues your damn kids for sacrifice and leave the animals alone

  7. Alice Knight says:

This is truly disturbing. These type of sacrificial festivities and or rituals are not intended to be part of any social or private entertainment venue. This is an atrocious way to behave towards any living animal. This is not an acceptable practice. Perhaps there’s the need to have someone offer other alternatives to their practices which do not involve using real animals.
By the way, I really don’t feel the need to show this graphic photo. I am certainly aware this kind of behaviour is present, unfortunately.

  8. Animal sacrifices were done away with when Jesus died on the cross why do you crucify him over and over again Jesus became our Passover not Easter people that do this worship Satan and our children of the devil God created you that doesn’t mean He’s your Holy Father.. Kane who killed Abel his father was the devil and if you’re a descendant of Kane well then I guess you’re a descendant of the devil not gone only people like this could do such evil things

  9. CHOP THEIR PUTRID EVIL HEADS OFF!
    NOTHING BUT SAVAGES!
DISGUSTING EXCUSES FOR HUMAN BEINGS LIKE THESE THINGS NEED SLAUGHTERING!

  10. Exactly what positive results come from cruelly torturing painfully forcing any animals to suffer such horrific acts of twisted slaughter? Honestly how can these acts of barbarism do anything to advance their beliefs in fact to me its counterproductive to force any animal to suffer to slowly die in excruciating pain is wrong we are living in the year 2024!

  11. This type of harm doesn’t happen when you celebrate God. It’s the same God no matter your language or your religion. To kill is not part of God’s love. You are made from God’s love and love doesn’t use fear and death to win God’s favor. Actually the opposite is true. Love is the answer. If you wish to celebrate God do so with love and you will be blessed. Animals see you as love, please love them and allow them to love you back. We need tolerance in this old, tired, world. We can tolerate anything including each other.

  12. very sick people like this should be locked up for good

I am muslim but I strictly ban this torture!

  14. Uncommon Sensesc says:

How much money does our idiot government give these countries that do this??? It just enrages me that we give financial aid to countries that still condone animal abuse (yes, I know how horrible the US is too and I’d like to kill the people that do it).

  15. Svea Lunburg says:

Hopefully they will take their own children for this practices in the future so this unbelievable cruel, stupid and demonic traditions wil die out soon…

  16. Everything has to move with the times… some call it progress… (but that’s a dangerous and misleading term.) In this instance, these “deep seated” traditions and religions must be forced to recognize that times have changed and they will have to do the same. It’s happened elsewhere around the world.. why not them too, they’re not special.

  17. William Areke says:

India is one of the biggest shitholes out there. The best thing anyone could do is bomb that place to oblivion. It’s filled with gang rapists, animal abusers, wife beaters. A dirty, disgusting society filled with vile people.

  18. Elease M. Bradford says:

Animal sacrifices for religious purposes must end. This practice is cruel and appalling. Animals have feelings also, and they have a right to live along side us and be treated with compassion and respect.

  19. Lulu Balbi says:

Can you please not use such a graphic photo???? Obviously the people signing this petition already think this is horrific.

  20. Joanna Pendlebury says:

Stop this vilecand barbaric practice. Its heartbreaking cruel and utterly pointless.
