Target: Joseph A. Brusic, Yakima County Prosecuting Attorney
Goal: Secure rigorous prosecution for those allegedly responsible for the heinous dog abuse in Yakima Valley.
In the serene Yakima Valley, a series of heart-wrenching dog abuse cases have reportedly occurred, sending shockwaves through the community. Allegedly, between March and May, five dogs met cruel fates, evident from disturbing signs of starvation and blunt force trauma. August brought another grim discovery: a dog tragically lost its life due to a fatal gunshot. These incidents depict an alarming trend of violence towards innocent animals, necessitating urgent intervention.
In an appalling case, two poodle mix dogs were reportedly found in Zillah; one tragically dead in a pool of blood, while its companion barely clung to life but fortunately survived. Such incidents underline the pressing need for legal action. TeachKind, PETA’s educational division, responded to these atrocities by offering empathy-learning resources to local schools, highlighting the importance of nurturing compassion in young minds. However, while education is crucial, it cannot replace the dire need for legal justice.
This petition demands stringent legal action against those allegedly responsible for these heinous crimes. Advocate for a society where animals are treated with respect and kindness, and where acts of cruelty are met with the full force of the law. Demand that the perpetrators of these alleged crimes face serious legal consequences.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear Prosecuting Attorney Joseph A. Brusic,
We are deeply troubled by the recent spate of dog abuse cases in Yakima Valley. Reportedly, several dogs have endured severe mistreatment, including starvation, blunt force trauma, and in one case, a fatal shooting. These acts are not only morally reprehensible but also indicative of a larger issue of violence within our community. We urge you to take swift and decisive legal action against those allegedly responsible for these atrocities.
In Zillah, two poodle mix dogs were found in a state that can only be described as horrifying. One, sadly dead and lying in a pool of its own blood; the other, barely surviving but thankfully now safe. These instances are not isolated but part of a disturbing pattern in our community. We must address this issue not only through education and community outreach, as exemplified by TeachKind’s efforts, but also through robust legal measures.
We implore you to ensure that the alleged perpetrators of these vile acts are brought to justice. By doing so, you will send a strong message that animal cruelty is a serious offense and will not be tolerated in our society. We count on your commitment to justice and the safety of all beings in our community.
Sincerely,
Your Name Here

Animal torture, cruelty and death will not be tolerated in our society. I wish we could so the same to the perps once caught and convicted but we are supposed to be above that treatment even of criminals. But criminals take this to the bank and are not usually sent to prison. Yet the law could place immediate leans again both business and home, obligate payment of huge fines and give more prison sentences. People who are forced to pay a high price usually won’t harm others as they know what will come to them if they do. These atrocities will continue until the law is strict enough to force the perp to decide if it is worth taking the chance!
Animal abusers should not be allowed in society. They are a menace and don’t deserve any mercy!!
