Horse Apparently Whipped on Camera During Rodeo Deserves Justice

Target: James W. Glasgow, State’s Attorney of Will County, Illinois

Goal: Thoroughly investigate allegations of rodeo participant whipping his horse in the face.

At the La Herradura de Joliet Rodeo in Will County, a jarring incident unfolded. Christopher Dorado, a horse rider, faced animal abuse allegations stemming from this event.

Videographic evidence unveiled by an animal rights group, Showing Animals Respect and Kindness, captured moments that are now under scrutiny. Within this footage, Dorado reportedly struck a horse and whipped its face.

Acknowledgement of these actions came from Dorado, with a subsequent expression of remorse, according to the Will County Sheriff’s Office. As legal proceedings loom for Dorado in the coming month, further action has been taken.

A restraining order against the club organizing these rodeos was reportedly filed by the state’s attorney’s office. Acts of alleged cruelty, especially those documented and shared, demand attention, exploration, and consequent action. Fairness, justice, and animal welfare ought to remain pivotal in these pursuits. It’s time to take action.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Mr. James W. Glasgow,

This letter pertains to a recent, unsettling incident involving alleged animal cruelty at the La Herradura de Joliet Rodeo. As the State’s Attorney of Will County, we seek your commitment to ensuring that this matter receives the comprehensive investigation it warrants.

The incident in question revolves around Mr. Christopher Dorado. Captured on video, he reportedly struck a horse and went as far as whipping the animal’s face. While Mr. Dorado has since acknowledged and expressed regret over these actions, it is imperative that due process be followed to its rightful conclusion.

Considering the evidence presented by the animal rights group, Showing Animals Respect and Kindness, and the subsequent action taken by your office against the rodeo-organizing club, it becomes evident that there are broader concerns at play. As representatives of the community, we insist that these allegations be treated with the gravity and thoroughness they deserve.

We urge you to allocate the necessary resources, scrutinize every detail, and ensure that justice prevails in this case. Through this, we hope to reinforce the belief that animal rights and their protection remain paramount in Will County.

Yours sincerely,

THIS CRUEL & ABUSIVE ASSHOLE SHOULD NEVET BE ALLOWED TO RIDE, BE NEAR, OWN, AND ADOPT ANOTHER HORSE ALONG WITH ANY OTHER AMIMALS AS LONG AS HE IS LIVING!!!!

  2. Uncommon Sensesc says:

That cowardly son of a bitch needs to be whipped until his ears bleed! What is wrong with people that abuse animals, that take their frustrations out on innocent animals? And his parents need to be held accountable too – it looks like he was raised to think this is okay behavior by his parents or he wouldn’t do it now! He needs to be eradicated from this earth and the sooner, the better!

  4. Dr. Veronica Rynn says:

In the face??? What an a-hole!!!

  5. Rodeos need to be outlawed as they are just highly arenas for animal abuse. This man needs to be prosecuted for the cruelty inflicted by this man. Jail time will remind him about his cruelty. A lighter sentence would not be enough. No slap on the wrist.

  6. Agree all comments.better better fuck outif them banned for going near any animal for life . How can this be allowed its cruel and all rodeos should be banned worldwide they are cruel and animals get hurt. No excuse for animal cruelty.

  7. Melinda Shaw says:

Rodeos are just cruel entertainment for the lowest common denominator and those who enjoy watching animals being exploited and harmed. Outlaw the damned things.

  8. Rodeo is not a Sport. ITS a CRUEL WAY for IDIOTS TO FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE POWER AND CONTROL! Instead they sre heartless souless SUBHUMANS.
    RODEOS SHOULD BE OUTLAWED

  9. Τhe f…. rider is known. Very easy. Arrest him and fuck him publicly!!

  10. For Pete’s sake… saying “Sorry” is SO Hollywood!!! Being truly sorry takes a lot more than saying a few words. Unfortunately for him and his sorry-ass, he must be used as an example.

  11. Stephanie Geyser says:

I wonder how many OTHER horses are whipped and/or are worse abused, when there are no cameras around to record the abuse, all under the feeble excuse of “rodeos are entertainment”? I doubt that the horse felt “entertained”. But luckily, this incident was captured on camera. So let’s hope and pray that the State’s Attorney does the RIGHT thing and takes PROPER ACTION against the perpetrator of this poor abused animal. Because (if he doesn’t) then we can question how much he was paid by Christopher Dorado to look the other way. And (of course) Christopher Dorado WOULD be “sorry” – because he got caught out.

  12. Jaime Perez says:

It’s about time that the abuse of innocent animals used in rodeos, is brought into light. I’m sure things like this have been going on forever. I’m glad this incredible a-hole was caught on video. Rodeos need to be banned and outlawed. They are just cruel forms of entertainment for stupid humans.

Absolutely No Tolerance Towards Animal ABUSERS n Cruelty. An eye for an eye fits this crime n should be the punishment along with fines n jail time.

  14. Ronda Gish says:

People that are broken like this should not breath the same air. Euthanaza for the human not the dog. Dogs can heal. Humans can not retrain the brain.

  16. Jim – Please do the job you were hired to do and file animal cruelty charges against Christopher Dorado. A mere slap on the wrist is no justice for the horse that was injured by Dorado. Put this uneducated asshole behind bars…

  17. Lori Smith says:

It’s high-time and past-time these abusive rodeos start receiving public and legal scrutiny over their practices and harmful actions in an “Entertainment” themed event geared toward families and children as well. You’re basically telling everyone it’s okay to hurt animals. IT IS NOT!!!! Rodeos need to STOP ABUSING AND HURTING ANIMALS in these public events.

WHAT KIND OF MESSAGE DOES THIS SEND TO CHILDREN? It sends the message that it’s okay to be abusive.

STOP RODEOS WITH ANIMALS, THEY’RE NO BETTER THAN A CIRCUS!!!!! At least that industry started getting regulation and there are fewer animals and services. I long for the day there are NONE – in both circuses and rodeos!!!

  18. Michelle Stewart says:

All rodeos all over the world must be made illegal. Rodeos are nothing but animal cruelty. The bastard that whipped the poor horse deserves to be severely whipped until he dies. Make that bastard suffer immense pain and then die.

  19. Nicole Davis says:

RODEOS….WHAT CENTURY ARE THESE SAD, DISGUSTING, CRUEL BULLIES LIVING IN…MORONIC THICK IDIOTS.
PUNISH THEM AND MAKE AN EXAMPLE OF THEM ALL.
THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO INFLICT CRUELTY ON ANY ANIMAL, SO OBVIOUSLY THESE PATHETIC EXCUSES FOR, SO CALLED, `HUMANS` NEED TO BE MADE AN EXAMPLE OF. JUST GET ON AND DO THE JOB YOU TAKE THE MONEY FOR.

  20. Mary Young says:

Me I would to beat that bastard in his damn face the same fucking way and show him how it feels to he hit with a damn whip he should be banned from entering ant rodeo anywhere
