Animals Allegedly Abused to Death on Farm Deserve Justice

Target: Chad Brown, Montmorency County Sheriff

Goal: Demand a thorough investigation and accountability in an alleged animal abuse case.

An ongoing investigation is currently underway regarding disturbing animal abuse allegations involving a farm in Briley Township, Michigan. Montmorency County Sheriff Chad Brown has confirmed that his department, in collaboration with members of the Michigan Department of Agriculture, visited the farm to address these concerns.

Concerns from local residents, who have allegedly complained for years about the conditions in which the animals are kept, include allegations of abuse, neglect, and, tragically, cases of animal deaths. In 2018, a report was compiled by the sheriff’s office and presented to the county prosecutor; however, no charges were ever filed at that time.

During the most recent investigation, veterinarians reportedly assessed the conditions but determined that they did not necessitate the immediate removal of the animals. As of Thursday, only a few animals remained on the property. Nevertheless, Sheriff Brown emphasized that the current location of the animals does not alter the conditions they were allegedly subjected to when the investigation commenced.

Currently, the Montmorency County Sheriff’s Department awaits the results of a report from the Michigan Department of Agriculture before deciding on their next course of action. Whatever the results, sign below and demand that a thorough investigation take place to ensure the safety of these animals.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Sheriff Chad Brown,

Reports of alleged abuse, neglect, and animal deaths at a farm in Briley Township, Michigan have raised serious questions about the welfare of these innocent creatures.

While we understand that investigations are underway and that veterinarians have reportedly assessed the conditions of the animals, we urge you to ensure that a thorough and impartial inquiry is conducted. It is essential that all allegations are investigated diligently, and if any wrongdoing is found, those responsible are held accountable under the law.

Animal welfare is a matter of utmost importance, and we believe that every effort should be made to protect these vulnerable beings from harm and neglect. Regardless of the outcome of the investigation, it is crucial that the findings are transparently communicated to the public.

We appreciate your department’s efforts in addressing this issue, and we trust that you will take all necessary steps to ensure that justice is served for the animals involved. We hope to see a swift resolution that upholds the principles of compassion and accountability in the community.

Sincerely,

  1. I appreciate an ongoing investigation but why did this go on for years?????
The people involved in this crime must not get off with a slap on the wrist. They need to serve time in prison. Why can we not set an example of what will be done to people who abuse animals? Any and all animals! Why are laws so ineffective? Are these crimes also felonies?

Shame on all of you for not tending to this situation when it first occurred. Please make sure the owner or owners of the farm are charged with the harshest penalty and that they serve jail time as well as make sure they are never to own a farm or animal again. It is a privilege to own an animal not a right.
