Protect Endangered North Atlantic Right Whales From Going Extinct

Target: Richard W. Spinrad, Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

Goal: Safeguard the critically endangered North Atlantic right whales.

The North Atlantic right whale, a majestic marine species, stands at the brink of extinction. These gentle giants, numbering merely a few hundred individuals, face an unprecedented threat to their survival. Collisions with vessels and entanglement in fishing gear are primary contributors to their alarming mortality rate.

Historically, North Atlantic right whales have endured centuries of exploitation, pushing them to the brink of extinction. Their plight is further exacerbated by the ongoing impacts of climate change on their vital habitats. Moreover, despite existing regulations, deadly vessel strikes and entanglements continue to claim the lives of these majestic creatures at an alarming rate.

Sign the petition below to demand immediate and comprehensive action from the NOAA to protect the North Atlantic right whales from further harm.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Administrator Spinrad,

The fate of the North Atlantic right whale, one of the most magnificent species our oceans harbor, teeters on the precipice of extinction. With a population dwindling to mere hundreds, urgent action is imperative to preserve these remarkable creatures for our children and grandchildren.

Centuries of exploitation have pushed North Atlantic right whales to the brink, and now, modern threats such as vessel collisions and entanglement in fishing gear endanger their existence. Despite existing regulations, these perils persist at alarming rates, pushing these gentle giants closer to oblivion.

We urge you to take immediate and comprehensive action to safeguard North Atlantic right shales. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that they can thrive, not just survive, in our oceans. Their fate is intertwined with the health of our seas, and their survival is a testament to our commitment to protecting the wonders of the natural world.

Sincerely,
