Stop Industrial Pollution to Protect the Green River

Target: Rebecca Goodman, Cabinet Secretary of the Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection

Goal: Implement stringent protective measures to ensure the preservation of the Green River and its diverse ecosystem.

The Green River, a lifeline to Kentucky’s natural heritage, faces an impending threat that demands immediate attention. This vital waterway sustains a rich tapestry of plant and animal life, fostering a delicate balance that is now perilously hanging in the balance.

The convergence of unchecked industrial pollution, unregulated agricultural practices, and urban development looms over the Green River’s ecosystem. The once pristine waters are now tainted with pollutants, affecting aquatic life and endangering the health of those who depend on the river for sustenance. Disturbingly, critical habitats for numerous species are vanishing, pushing them towards the brink of extinction.

Sign the petition below to demand the swift implementation of comprehensive protective measures, securing the future of the Green River and its diverse inhabitants.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Secretary Goodman,

The words of John Muir resonate as we confront the impending peril faced by the Green River: “When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.” The interconnectedness of the world reminds us that the fate of the Green River’s ecosystem impacts us all.

The time for action is now. Industrial pollutants, unchecked agricultural practices, and unchecked development are compromising the purity of these waters, endangering the rich tapestry of life that calls this ecosystem home. The consequences ripple beyond the riverbanks, affecting the communities and future generations.

We implore you to rise to this challenge. Embrace stringent protective measures that will not only preserve the Green River’s pristine beauty, but also ensure the survival of the countless species that depend on it.

Sincerely,

  1. Protective measures must be put in place to protect this magnificent river which is used by animals, wildlife, and humans. Plus ti feeds into other water sources. Corporations and industry do not want to understand this as they only want their bottom line to triple as it is a bottom less pit. But the suffering done by not making these businesses maintain the laws is a reason to sue them, take away their licenses, and fine them. Business won’t cooperate on their own as they only understand dollars and have no cents! LOL!!!
    Thank you for you interest.
