Stop Cruel Poisoning, Starving, and Abuse of Street Dogs

Target: Mr. Bhupender Yadav, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change – Government of India

Goal: Protect street dogs in India from cruelty and ensure their well-being and safety.

Street dogs in India are often subjected to cruel treatment, including physical abuse, poisoning, and neglect. These animals are vulnerable and often face a life of suffering on the streets. According to animal welfare organizations, such as PETA India and Blue Cross of India, there are an estimated 30 million street dogs in India, many of whom suffer from malnutrition, injuries, and diseases.

The lack of proper animal control measures in many parts of the country leads to overpopulation and the spread of diseases, such as rabies, which can pose a serious threat to public health. According to the World Health Organization, India has the highest number of rabies deaths in the world, with an estimated 20,000 people dying from the disease each year.

To protect the well-being of street dogs in India, it is crucial to raise awareness about the importance of animal welfare and push for the adoption of more humane practices. This includes implementing effective animal control measures, such as spaying and neutering, vaccination, and proper care of sick or injured animals. In addition, community-based programs that promote responsible pet ownership and provide education on animal welfare can help reduce the number of street dogs and improve their living conditions.

Sign the below petition to urge Mr. Bhupender Yadav to take action to protect street dogs in India from cruelty and ensure their well-being and safety.

India, treat your animals kindly. Protect, not hurt them! You will have good karma in return!

  2. Leimamo Oshiro says:

    India should poison themselves.

  3. Carol Pearce says:

The reason these poor animals are homeless is due to ‘humans?’ not sterilizing their pets. If everyone did this we would not have the problem of starving and homeless animals. DO THE RIGHT THING, STERILIZE AND CHIP.

  4. Mariangela Canzi says:

Dogs are not objects. They are sentient beings. They suffer and love just like we do. People in India shouldn’t abuse and poison them. Shame on you!

  5. Juliet mi Tamplin says:

Starving any sentient creature is sheer cruelty.

  6. Nadine Brundage says:

Not enough rescue organizations to help educate people when it comes to animal welfare. Killing these innocent animals in the most horrific ways are not acceptable. The government needs to do more to protect animals.

As India’s Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, please take action that reflects your commitment to animal welfare. This includes implementing humane practices to protect street dogs, feral cats and other sentient beings that live in your country. I may live a continent away, but am cognizant of what other countries are doing for their animals. Please be a role model and advocate to those beings that desperately need you.

  12. Gerald George Ryan says:

If you seek to be recognized by the world as a civilized country, rather than a third-world country who exploits, abuses and tortures animals, YOU MUST NOT TOLERATE HORRENDOUS TREATMENT OF STREET DOGS, OR DOMESTIC OR WORKING ANIMALS IN INDIA!

  13. Gerald George Ryan says:

IF YOU EXPECT THE WORLD TO BE SYMPATHETIC TO YOUR HUMANITARIAN NEEDS, YOU must stop the rampant animal abuse in your country!

  17. Shirley Lemieux says:

It is appalling to learn of homeless dogs in a Country where there is actually leadership. If you can believe it. Although that leadership is questionable because no good and responsible person or Country would have allowed this problem to become so overwhelming that as many as 30 million dogs are walking the streets of India without a home. That is outrageous. Even the simplest of Laws created can help curb this problem. Along with proper Spay/Neuter can reduce the number of strays. No excuse for this problem. Just bad leadership.

  18. Urszula Lund says:

    DOG LIVES MATTER!!!
Break the CYCLE of SUFFERING and spay, neuter and find loving forever homes!
Cruelty against dogs is totally DEHUMANIZING for the human race! Violence against animals is the main cause of interpersonal violence!

  19. Josie olive says:

Frigging doties need to be boiled in oil

  20. Cheryl Miller says:

Please please please have a heart and compassion for the street animals!! It is not their fault!! They are innocent victims!! Please help them, please!!!!!
