Dogs With Dental Disease, Hernias, Tumors, Eye Infections and Parasites Deserve Justice

Target: Jennings H. Jones, District Attorney Rutherford County
Goal: Seek maximum penalty for owner of 48 dogs and 5 cats apparently found in absolutely horrific conditions.

Dozens of dogs were apparently found living in “feces-filled crates,” in a raccoon trap, and chained to the yard. The animals reportedly had dental disease, hernias, tumors, skin inflammation, eye infections, and parasites.

This scene of horrors was reportedly discovered by investigators recently, and included 48 dogs and five cats that were ultimately rescued.

Sadly, it was also discovered that one dog had been killed by other dogs in the cage they were confined in.

Rescuer Tim Woodward, from the Animal Rescue Corps, stated “I’m so glad we were able to respond so quickly. These animals were in desperate need and couldn’t wait another day.”

PETITION LETTER:

Dear District Attorney Jones,

An absolute horror show of abuse has apparently been discovered in your county. According to reports, dozens of dogs were found living in “feces-filled crates,” in a raccoon trap, and chained to the yard.

Animal abuse is a serious crime and in this case, it appears there were dozens of animals that faced horrific abuse. We are asking you to vigorously prosecute this case and to seek a fair and just punishment.

Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]

According to an article I found (took a lot of searching), the people who did this are elderly and started having health issues themselves. Beyond that, people know when conditions are wrong, unhealthy and unsafe for the animals. I do know that sometimes it’s hard to find help with animals in some rural areas as the local groups don’t have the funding or resources. It’s a shame those people didn’t alert the shelters and groups before those poor animals got in such bad shape. I’m so glad that people stepped up and stepped in to rescue those dogs and cats – thank you do all of you who do this. I can only imagine the heartbreaking things you see.

    • What do you consider elderly?? Unless it includes a total loss of locomotion it is no excuse. These conditions don’t happen overnight. Why were they in crates anyway?? 48 dogs make a lot of noise. Where were the neighbours?? I’m sorry but it’s wishy washy remarks like yours that allow these horrors to keep happening. Stop feeling any sympathy for these horrors that happen and start insisting on harder laws to help the animals.

This just breaks my heart, I simply don’t understand how someone could do this to any animal this is just horrific!! The torment and abuse that these animals endured is just unimaginable. Please, please prosecute to the fullest extent of the law, serving jail time, fines and retribution for their care &never allowing them to ever own, care nor be near any animal.

  4. Maria Lavorato says:

My heart breaks for those sweet innocent dogs and cats.
God’s healing hand to all of them.

It is also a shame that governments do not mandate social services to do routine inspection visits, for the elderly, as they do for at risk children.
…but I guess that is too much to ask for?..

  5. Laura Rolder says:

Felony charges to the max for each animal. Thus monster never needs to be allowed in society lock them in a cage just as they did to these innocent animals.

  6. Please put these sick people in jail ater fines, absolute no future animal contact. Don’t forget to put them in a dog crate to live for a month with only scraps to eat and no cleaning, caring or medical treatment. An eye for an eye!!

  7. Hang this jerk

  8. Maria Lavorato says:

    …plus

A FULL investigation needs to happen

  10. So I used to be a pet sitter…and I met with and agreed to walk this big Rottie that this old lady in her early 90s (Lovey) had. She should never have had this dog but she claimed she LOVED big dogs. But she could not walk him herself. He spent a lot of time in his crate I’ll tell you which I didn’t like. But the dog was not the worst. She finally trusted me enough to show me what she had in a room off her kitchen. We walked in and I was horrified to find at least a dozen Persian cats with matted fur, very neglected…all in cages there. I asked what she was doing with them and she claimed they were “Show” cats. And show cats lived in cages they didn’t go free plus she had Coyotes in her area and did not want them to get eaten. I didn’t say too much to her then as I’d already decided to turn her in to Animal Control. Because she was not taking care of them and they had little to no interaction with ppl and they were so friendly and sweet when I went to talk to them. So the next time I came over I had a camera on me and I offered to help her feed them and when she briefly left I started snapping pics. Then the next morning sent them over to animal control with a complaint. They came back telling me that they were well aware of Lovey and that cats of her’s had already been siezed before…she had had about 30 but 12 had been given back to her. I couldn’t believe that they would give her ANY back. This stupid old lady! Thinking kitties deserved to live in cages just because they were show cats! And she wasn’t even showing them anymore!!!!! Reminded me of Puppy mills! I literally wanted to kick her ass! 90 something or not! I ended up severing my relationship with her as short of theft of the cats..there was nothing I could do. The supposed correct authorities knew her and what she was doing..but were lax to move in. WTF??? If Animal Control can’t protect them…who can???? This was quite a few years ago…but hopefully she’s dead now. But it scares me to think perhaps the animals died with her if she died in her house and no one knew about it for awhile. Why are ppl like this??? I will NEVER understand ppl like her!

Very sad reading how these caged animals were treated and left in such horrific conditions. Someone, mailman, neighbor, relative didn’t notice these animals? Hope justice for the voiceless will be served.

  12. Jeannie Frank says:

This is so horrible-please God,bring justice for these beautiful, innocent, vulnerable, trusting precious animals!!!!All of these monsters deserve nothing except to rot in hell.

  13. Pamela Plambeck says:

Please find and bring this person to justice…innocent sentient beings deserve to live a quality life in lieu of inhumane squalor.

  14. Shirley Lemieux says:

I will never understand why people would treat another living being with such cruelty. These animals have no voice and are defenseless. I hope the people responsible for such neglect and cruelty towards these animals face proper punishment.

  15. HUMANITY STINKS!!! I HATE SOME HUMANS

  18. All the comments on the side of the animals>YES YES YES!!!
Having been around Dogs and Rescue Groups for decades you see ALOT that’s wrong. Sometimes you have to just go ahead and do it WHATEVER!!! it takes to save the dog/cat! Don’t wait for anything or anyone…JUST DO IT!
