Bloodied Dog Used For ‘Bait’ in Fights and Found Wandering the Streets Deserves Justice

Target: Major Wayne Adkins, Broward Police Chief
Goal: Find person responsible for using innocent dog as “bait” for dog fighting.

A bloodied dog named Atlas was found wandering the streets. His face was gashed, bruised, and bleeding. His eyes were nearly swollen shut.

When rescuers arrived, Atlas was barely able to see and was experiencing blood loss and other internal injuries. Atlas was found wandering aimlessly in a parking lot in Pompano Beach.

Rescuers, from both South Florida Cats and Kittens and I Heart, assumed custody of Atlas and rushed him to a veterinary hospital where he received treatment for his extensive injuries.

According to representatives from I Heart, Atlas’ injuries are consistent with being used as a “bait dog” in a dog fighting ring. He does not appear to have been hit by a car.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chief Adkins,

It appears a dog fighting ring is on-going in your jurisdiction.

Please ensure that your department uses all resources necessary to finding and capturing the people involved in this dog fighting ring and, in particular, the person responsible for Atlas’ abuse.

Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]

Please ensure that person or persons responsible are found this dog is certainly not the only one being used and abused. Investigate we owe it to these defenseless animals.

  3. Lilia Casarez says:

Whoever did this needs to be punished! Too bad, the punishment can’t fit the crime, because it’s what they deserve! Have no use for these type of people! Settle for hard labor, and take away their freedom!

  4. Disturbing and disgusting. The problem here is our laws do not cover animal protection very well or alif at all.

  5. Pamela Plambeck says:

Please arrest and prosecute the person or people responsible for
cruelty inflicted upon this innocent sentient being…I’m pretty sure this is not an isolated incident with a single victim.

  6. Ines Gjurinovic says:

Death penalty for all culprits ill-born pieces of scum!

  7. Instigation of the death penalty and nothing less is required to be implemented to these severe dog abusing scumbags.

  8. Frances Leard says:

These sick low life scum should be tortured the way they did to these innocent dogs. They need to be put out of their evil hateful minds. The courts do nothing to protect them.

  9. Renata Kuchinsky says:

This monster deserves the same. No normal person will put a living being through such hell.

  10. Kathleen Norton says:

Please find and punish the fucks that did this, it will just continue and more innocent pups will pay, probably with they’re lives, enough with the dog fighting lazy, greedy, flaming assholes that are involved!

  11. Jeanne C Bradbury says:

Every day there’s another horror going on in Florida. . . is everyone in that state numb to the unspeakable human and animal abuse, or just too lazy to invest the resources to hunt down the depraved mutants responsible???

  12. Gerald George Ryan says:

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE OFFICIALS IN FLORIDA??
Perhaps sea level rise is the only thing that can help the corruption and the lack of determination to hunt down the mutants responsible for these outrages against innocent animals. Like the cops don’t know where these dog-fighting locations are???? Nobody has the will to round up the monsters responsible???

  13. Jaime Perez says:

Whoever did this, to this dog, is the filthy scum of the earth! Dog fighters shouldn’t even be allowed to live in society. They are the most disgusting, reprehensible pieces of garbage to walk the earth!!

  14. This should be TOP PRIORITY to get the POS people off the streets. I want these people dead.

  15. Mary Young says:

Wish I could find all these bastards and build a big cage out of metal atleast 10 feet hight and gather up all these sick people that the police are scared of and put them in the cage with 150 of these pitbulls and let them bastards feel the pain all these poor dogs 🐕 😢 feel

  16. Authorities, do your job! Dog fighting is illegal, obviously there is an active ring near by. Find these evil people and shut down that operation. You know there are other dogs suffering tremendously as we speak. FIND THOSE RESPONSIBLE AND STOP THEM,!!!

  17. Bev Woodburn says:

ABSOLUTELY SICKENING AND UNFORGIVABLE. Please find the vile and evil psychopathic monster bastard/s whoever committed this sadism and evilness and do the same to these vile and evil Monster lowlife bastards immediately.
Someone just find these monster bastard murderers and KILL THEM!!!
May they die a thousand torturous deaths and be damned to hell!!!

  18. I feel the same outrage as the other writers. The anger, however, doesn’t seem to be solving the problem of how to keep dogs and other animals safe. Smart politicians should undertake this because they are always looking for a ‘good’ issue. They might gain more traction than anticipated because millions of Americans are devoted to their animals. Let’s convene more workshops and conventions to improve awareness and hopefully come up with ideas. Hanging these abusers would be nice but the problem would still exist. We have to find an answer.
I was a teacher. I would talk with the students about the importance of treating our animal friends with respect. I sign thousands of animal rights petitions, I contribute money and demonstrate in person for animal rights. And most importantly I pray to God for mercy for their dear sweet souls.

  19. Shirley Lemieux says:

If Law Enforcement was observant and more involved in their jurisdictions then it would seem like dog fighting rings would not be occurring right under their noses. As a result, live animals are being ripped apart by each other for purposes of money gambling and entertainment.

  20. THE LOW LIFE doesn’t deserve the oxygen that he breathes and NEEDS TO BE DEATH!
