Dog Tied Up in Freezing Temps With Swollen Face, Neck and Jaw Deserves Justice

Target: Rochester Chief of Police David M. Smith
Goal: Determine who is responsible for dog tied up in freezing cold with swollen face, neck and jaw.

A dog was found tied to a fence in the freezing cold. The dog’s face, neck, and jaw were all swollen. There were also lacerations and older injuries, pointing towards additional past abuse.

“There’s some swelling, some lacerations and older injuries that we can say there’s some signs of abuse, but we still have to figure out what caused that,” said Reno DiDomenico, vice president for humane law enforcement at Lollypop Farm.

This is the second time that authorities have been called out to this particular address for a case of animal abuse. Not too long ago, Sharod Campbell, who lived at the address, was arrested and charged with animal abuse in a different case. It is unknown if Campbell even still lives at the address and whether he is responsible for the current abuse. He is still awaiting trial on the past case of abuse.

“We kind of have to backtrack now and go backward and start to get some information on who was at the location, what parties were there,” DiDomenico said. “We don’t even know if Sharod Campbell still lives there.”

While the investigation continues, the dog will be housed at a rescue shelter. However, “at this point, the animal still belongs to whoever owned the dog at 21 Iroquois. So, at this point, the dog is not up for adoption yet and what we do is we hold that until the court determines ownership and custody of that dog,” explained the rescuer.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chief Smith,

A dog was found tied to a fence in the freezing cold. The dog’s face, neck, and jaw were all swollen. There were also lacerations and older injuries, pointing towards additional past abuse.

It is imperative that the police quickly determine who lives at this address and who is responsible for this abuse. Until then, the poor innocent dog risks being returned to their abuser.

Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]

The best way is for the law to be changed to guardian instead of owner. That way when you purchase the dog you are his guardian and will agree to take care of him. Then if the dog is abused the dog could be taken from them and not returned.
Returning this dog to be abused all over again is inhumane and has to be protected by the courts
Not returned. Can you imagine the absolute terror and despair that dog would feel.
Name calling will not change the situation only action will. But I fully understand your frustrated feelings as I feel the same way
It Is a shame that they do not have a separate court system geared towards animal and child abuse. Animal abuse usually leads to abuse of humans.

This horrid monster former owner needs to be fined, jailed and never allowed to be near any animal again!!! The poor dog needs to be rehomed with a new kind owner now!

Ditto to all the previous replies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Alice Knight says:

As far as I am concerned this is animal abuse and this individual lost any sort of ties or ownership. This person should be penalized by never owning any animal again. Can anyone tell me if there is an animal cruelty registry available?

  14. Please lock up SCUMBAG POS Sharod Campbell and put this lowlife away for a loooong time!
Also, why would ANY judge consider giving this poor tortured dog back to the horrific owner??? The dog suffered immensely under the care of SCUMBAG Sharod Campbell. Obviously SCUMBAG LOWLIFE Sharod did not care for any animals. Please place this dog under warm and forever loving foster care! This is a no-brainer.

  16. josie olive says:

  17. Maria Lavorato says:

Do not let up on this investigation! This dog MUST NEVER be returned to this house. Please find him another home that will care for him as he deserves. HE HAS BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH!!!.

THERE SHOULD BE ZERO TOLERANCE FOR ANY ANIMAL ABUSE!! EVER!!

Chances are that the people living at this address are the abusers or know who the abusers are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope Sharod Campbell gets all that he deserves and then some. This evil should not be allowed to be free. I pray whoever is responsible will get the exact same abuse …..chain them to a fence in freezing cold weather and them die.!

  18. Nadine brundage says:

Well whoever lives at that address was responsible for the dog and that person should be held accountable for animal abuse. That innocent dog should not be given back to that person and put up for adoption and into a caring home. Enough with these disgusting animal abusers getting away with a slap on the wrist when animal cruelty should be a felony and let these scum pay the consequences . Laws may have been passed as a felony for some abusers but it’s left up to the judges and our wonderful judicial system to carry out the charges. So, we know that doesn’t happen very often.

  19. Theresa Palm says:

Well…here’s an idea! How bout we tie this POS up n now that its getting hot, throw his ass in the desert to fry!!!
I have seen HORRIFIC abuse cases as a volunteer animal rescue/foster. More times than not, these scumbags are given a slap on the wrist only to abuse again!!!
The ONLY WAY this is EVER going to get better is to IMPLEMENT STRICTER ANIMAL ABUSE LAWS!
I have just started a COMPASSION BURNOUT break for 2 weeks after delivering my last foster to rescue for her FURRREVER home.
The horror that I have witnessed CANNOT BE UNSEEN!💔💔💔
