Protect Europe From Further Russian Aggression

Target: Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary-General of NATO

Goal: Grant NATO membership to Finland and Sweden.

When Russia invaded Ukraine, Europe’s peaceful stability that had largely remained intact since the end of the Cold War was upended. Nations in close proximity to Russia now fear for their own safety and security. At least two countries have been compelled by these fears to seek membership in arguably the world’s largest military alliance.

Finland and Sweden have submitted applications to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). This intergovernmental pact between 30 member nations obligates the countries included in the pact to defend fellow members against military force. The alliance was created in the years following World War II as a response to that conflict and as a response to the threat posed by the then-Soviet Union.

The alliance has admitted 18 new members since its inception, and the Nordic nations that wish to join have long been affiliated with and aided NATO. Although most members have accepted their potential admission, Turkish leadership is currently holding up talks and slowing down the process. These countries are already facing direct threats from Vladimir Putin, so time is of the essence.

Sign the petition below to urge this influential bloc to expedite membership for Finland, Sweden, and any countries who want to protect their citizens from Russian aggression.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Secretary-General Stoltenberg,

NATO touts an open-door policy, and during these difficult times this policy is as important as ever. The very real threat of military harm caused both Finland and Sweden to break with decades of neutrality and ask for membership. The world has seen first-hand what can happen when vulnerable nations, like Ukraine, do not have this shield of security.

Please do not let a few obstructionists derail this essential effort. Grant these nations—and any other requesting countries—the aid and the alliance they desperately need.

Sincerely,

yes i agree, no war but, i can’t sign an untruthful petition. in the limelight the aggression is on our part, Ukraine is more Russian than European. Why does NATO want that territory? NATO wants partisan public opinion. But I’m not an idiot and I advise you not to be idiots either

    • Exactly!! There are CUNTservatives spewing Russian propaganda saying Zelensky is covorting, or covorted with Nazis. According to CONSERVATIVE Wall Street Journal that is a lie. And according to director of Holocaust Museaum that is a lie.
