Success: Green Energy Projects Granted Extended Timelines

Target: Dan Brouillette, United States Secretary of Energy

Goal: Praise extended tax credit deadline for renewable energy projects in U.S.

The U.S. Energy Department has announced that solar and wind energy projects will be granted extra time to apply for essential tax credits and incentives after delays caused by COVID-19. This will help save them from financial ruin and help to protect our environment in the move away from fossil fuels, in a great success for the planet and those who signed this petition. Renewable energy projects were at risk of losing federal tax credits and subsidies due to delayed construction dates caused by coronavirus lockdown procedures, casting doubt on their futures.

Now, with the extension of deadlines and a five-year benefits period rather than the previous four, solar and wind energy will be able to weather the storm of COVID-19 and get back on their feet more quickly once the pandemic has been resolved. Sign the petition below to thank the Secretary of Energy for his gracious decision.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Secretary Brouillette,

Thanks to your extension of the deadlines for renewable energy tax credits, wind and solar energy projects will be able to avoid cancelation and bankruptcy, allowing them to continue their essential work in fighting climate change and saving our environment.

Thank you for your decision to lend a much-needed helping hand to these environment-saving industries.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
