Success: Chris Brown Punished for Illegal Purchase of Baby Monkey

Target: Gavin Newsom, Governor-elect of California

Goal: Praise punishment of rapper Chris Brown for buying daughter a rare Capuchin monkey.

Rapper Chris Brown will serve up to a year in jail for his purchase of a baby Capuchin monkey as his daughter’s Christmas present in 2017. The rapper posted a picture of his daughter cuddling with the animal on his Instagram account, catching the attention of California fish and wildlife agents; the monkey was taken into custody, and Brown is finally facing charges for obtaining the monkey illegally and without a permit. He is due in court in February for his official sentencing.

The trade and sale of wildlife as pets is one of the worst forms of animal cruelty in existence. Wild animals are not meant to be kept confined to a single space; they thrive in big, open spaces with an unlimited food source, and the stress of being captured and confined is hazardous to their physical and mental health. Brown’s actions could have resulted in an innocent animal becoming sick and possibly dying had the government not intervened. Calls to action such as this petition have been circulated demanding Brown release the monkey and face the consequences of his purchase.

Those who put wildlife at risk must be made to face justice, celebrities or not, and Brown’s fame has not exempted him from punishment. Sign this petition to thank the government and the justice system for forcing him to face the consequences of his actions.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Governor Newsom,

Thank you for taking part in the conviction of rapper Chris Brown after he bought his daughter a pet Capuchin monkey. He did not have a permit for purchasing or owning the animal, which was thankfully taken into custody by California fish and wildlife agents following a video Brown posted of his daughter playing with the monkey. He is due in court for his official sentencing in February, but it is a relief to know that he will face the consequences for his actions despite his celebrity status.

The sale and trade of wildlife as pets is highly unethical, as such confinement wreaks havoc on the animals’ mental and physical well-being. Wildlife cannot thrive confined to a single area, and several have suffered and died as a result. Your aid in seeing that Brown faces justice will hopefully send a message that those involved in the wildlife pet trade will not be let off with a mere slap on the wrist for such actions.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]

Some people never learn. Chris Brown is one of them.

  2. Oh he thought he was above the law…WRONG!
The Hollywood elite believe that rules and laws don’t apply to them…Enjoy your vacation!

  3. Pets should not be bought as gift, period!

Unfortunately, he probably won’t go to prison. He’ll probably be made to pay a fine. Let’s hope it’s a very high fine, too.

Now it remains to be seen, what is the fish and wild life authorities going to do with rhe monkey. If not released to a sanctuary or the wild, it could have been in better hands with Mr. Brown.

It’s a double measure in the USA when spoken about animals rights!
On one side this man will go to prison and on the other side, the US Nazis laboratories are torturing monkeys by the most horrible ways and all in name of a fake “serious” science!!!
It’s a fully developed not healed schizophrenia, indeed!!!!

Good! He better be made to serve his time, and not just pay a fine. The rich are NOT above the law

  8. How much money for him is enough?
    1 billion perhaps!
    Sadly, money cannot replace intelligence.
