Target: Dr. Kevin Gwinner, Dean of the College of Business Administration at Kansas State University
Goal: Thank Kansas State University for canceling its puppy raffle.
Kansas State University’s College of Business Administration was planning on raffling off a mini goldendoodle puppy at one of its upcoming fundraisers. Raffling off a puppy is incredibly irresponsible and careless. The public expressed its concerns about the raffle and thankfully the university listened.
The university has now canceled its puppy raffle and will no longer give a helpless animal to a random “winner.” Giving a dog to a random “winner” does not guarantee this person will be a good owner or that the dog will have a happy life. The cancellation of this raffle was great news and it is partly thanks to all those at ForceChange who spoke their minds. Dogs are a great responsibility and commitment and should be treated as such.
Sign this petition and thank the university for making the compassionate choice.
PETITION LETTER:
Dear Dr. Gwinner,
Recently, your university was planning on hosting a puppy raffle at an upcoming fundraiser. During this event a goldendoodle puppy was to be raffled off and given to a random “winner.”
Dogs, especially puppies, require a lot of hard work and patience. They are a major responsibility and typically a 10 to 13-year commitment. Thankfully, after listening to the concerned public, you decided to cancel this event.
Thank you for making the compassionate choice and canceling this raffle. Animals are not objects and should not be treated as such.
Sincerely,
[Your Name Here]
