A combination of flawed software (MoveIt!) from Progressive Software and unencrypted data (Maximus) allowed hackers to copy the sensitive data of millions of Medicare & Medicaid recipients. You know full well that class-action lawsuits will deliver peanuts to the actual victims of the suit, so that’s not justice. And a few years of free credit monitoring is also inadequate. The Federal Government, the highest level of authority within this country, must also be held to the highest degree of accountability.
The victims need to get automatic reparations, with the Federal Government doing to actual lawsuits against a contractor and software company that failed the government agencies, and more damagingly, the clients of these agencies.
