Investigate South Africa’s President for Alleged Corruption Scandal

Target: Samson Gwede Mantashe, National Chairperson of The African National Congress

Goal: Condemn the re-election of an allegedly corrupt leader and demand a proper investigation into his scandal involving foreign money.

Cyril Ramaphosa, the recently re-elected President of South Africa, has been accused of hiding foreign money inside the sofa of one of his homes.

In June, Former Chief Spy Arthur Fraser formally accused the president of concealing over 4 million United States Dollars in a sofa at his game farm in the Northern Limpopo Province. Fraser also alleges thieves tried to steal this money from Ramaphosa but were illegally detained and interrogated by Ramaphosa’s security team.

Ramaphosa’s Party, The African National Congress, appointed a three-member advisory panel in response to the alleged scandal. The Head of the Panel, Chief Justice Ngcobo, found that Ramaphosa may be guilty of a conflict of interest. Additionally, Ngcobo stated the origins of the concealed money remained unclear, the theft wasn’t reported to the police, and the robbery wasn’t adequately investigated.

However, lawmakers within the African National Congress then used its political majority in parliament to reject the Panel’s findings, reject an impeachment vote for Ramphosa, and re-elect him as president of South Africa, all within a few weeks. Sign below to condemn The African National Congress’s failure to investigate this scandal demand they hold Ramaphosa accountable.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear Chairperson Samson Gwede Mantashe,

Following the alleged recent mishandling of foreign currency and unreported criminal activity, the people of South Africa condemn your party’s recent decision to re-elect Cyril Ramaphosa. Additionally, we demand an additional investigation into Ramaphosa’s scandal to determine the nature and origins of this alleged foreign currency.

Fulfill your promise to uphold and strengthen democratic institutions by providing answers to the people of South Africa.

Sincerely,

[Your Name Here]
