Demand Justice for Burned and Mutilated Baby Monkeys

Target: Jason Reding Quiñones, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida

Goal: Ensure appropriate punishment for those allegedly involved in horrific animal cruelty operation including the distribution of videos of mutilated and burned baby monkeys.

A recent investigation brought to light a horrifying illegal animal cruelty scheme orchestrated by Francisco Javier Ravelo. The investigation revealed that Ravelo distributed videos depicting the brutal torture of both adult and baby monkeys, which included grotesque acts of mutilation and burning. Such actions are not only a violation of the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture (PACT) Act but also reflect deeper societal issues related to compassion and empathy towards living beings.

Ravelo pleaded guilty to these heinous acts, admitting to distributing over 40 torture videos. U.S. Attorney Jason Reding Quiñones has condemned Ravelo’s actions as a “serious federal crime” that contributes to a market built on brutality. This incident is particularly concerning as it symbolizes a disturbing trend of escalating violence against animals, which can often correlate with violent behavior towards humans. The heinous nature of these acts demands not only legal consequences but a societal response that unequivocally denounces such cruelty.

It is essential to send a message that such sadistic behavior will not be tolerated in a civilized society. Ravelo could face up to seven years in prison; however, this sentence must reflect the gravity of his actions. The need for strict enforcement of animal welfare laws is imperative in preventing further cruelty and protecting vulnerable animals from similar fates.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear U.S. Attorney Quiñones,

The recent investigation led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has unveiled a deeply disturbing case of animal cruelty involving Francisco Javier Ravelo. Ravelo pleaded guilty to distributing over 40 videos that depicted the horrific torture of baby monkeys, including mutilation and burning.

Ravelo’s actions represent not only a violation of the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture (PACT) Act but also demonstrate a chilling willingness to engage in extreme cruelty. This kind of behavior fosters a culture of violence that has far-reaching implications for society as a whole. It is critical that individuals involved in such acts face substantial accountability to ensure that justice is served and to deter others from committing similar atrocities.

We urge you to pursue the maximum possible sentence for Ravelo, as this is essential not only for the sake of the victims but also as a declaration that our society will not tolerate such brutality.

Sincerely,
