Demand Justice for Over 100 Animals Allegedly Left to Suffer in Filth and Neglect

Target: Brian S. Mason, District Attorney of Adams County, Colorado

Goal: Hold individuals accountable for alleged animal cruelty resulting in the suffering and death of numerous animals in filthy property.

The recent alleged discovery of horrific conditions in a Northglenn home where over 100 animals were kept has shocked the community and drawn attention to the need for appropriate legal action against those responsible. Patti Joslin, 69, and Dakotah Joslin, 32, face over 100 charges of animal abuse, including 11 counts of aggravated animal cruelty and 98 counts of cruelty to animals. The conditions inside the home were described as “unsanitary” and “undesirable,” with law enforcement officials finding a dead dog and a dead cat among the numerous living animals affected by alleged neglect. This troubling situation underscores a severe violation of animal welfare and compassion that needs to be addressed with urgency.

Upon entering the home, first responders say they faced an overwhelming scene filled with animal waste covering every surface. Authorities noted the presence of 96 cats and 19 dogs living in deplorable conditions, surrounded by torn furniture and filth. One animal control officer recounted the agony of having to don gas masks and full protective suits to handle the situation, and the emotional toll of witnessing such evident suffering. The profound neglect and lack of care allegedly exhibited by both women led to the suffering of many innocent animals, highlighting a critical need for accountability.

It is imperative that appropriate measures are taken to ensure justice for the animals involved in this case. This petition demands that the District Attorney pursue the most serious charges against Patti Joslin and Dakotah Joslin, advocating for a punishment that reflects the severity of their alleged actions and serves as a deterrent to prevent further animal cruelty in the community. Justice for these animals is a step towards ensuring that such horrific situations do not occur again.

PETITION LETTER:

Dear DA Mason,

The distressing case involving Patti Joslin and Dakotah Joslin, who allegedly subjected over 100 animals to horrific living conditions, must not go unpunished. With several counts of animal cruelty, including aggravated animal cruelty, these women reportedly allowed their home to become a nightmarish environment. Law enforcement officials say they discovered animals suffering in conditions filled with feces and urine, and the tragic loss of two animals reportedly found dead highlights the urgency of addressing this case with the seriousness it deserves.

The overwhelming evidence and eye-witness accounts of the scene, including the appalling living conditions and the emotional anguish allegedly inflicted upon the animals, must compel the legal system to act decisively. The alleged neglect exhibited by both women not only reflects a blatant disregard for animal welfare but poses an alarming precedent for similar cases in the future. It is crucial for justice to be served, promoting community standards that protect our most vulnerable companions.

Therefore, we urge you to prosecute Patti Joslin and Dakotah Joslin to the fullest extent of the law, ensuring they face appropriate consequences for their alleged actions. It is essential to demonstrate that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in our community, and the legal repercussions must reflect the depth of their alleged neglect and the suffering endured by these innocent animals.

Sincerely,
